January Goals Review

Well, this is a day late, but not bad all things considered. I'm going to try to do a monthly review of my progress on my goals, and that starts with January. This is probably going to be kind of long, so it's going to go under a cut, for conveniences sake.

How to do this... This time I think I'm going to go by category of completion. If I don't like this format, I'll try something else next month.

Finished Goals
--Finish Downstairs puzzle by end of January. I finished this one with about a week-week and a half to spare. It ended up being a really pretty puzzle and finishing it up was both fun and an easy first goal to accomplish.

--Compile charity list by January 15. This one was done before the first Firday of the month, so I'm pleased with that.

Goals that have been started
--Meet daily Duolingo goal. I did this one every day in January, so this goal is off to a good start. And the secondary goal of doing lessons in each of my four languages each week is working out too. I think there was only one day where I didn't do the targeted language, but I'm not upset about that, since I did still do some language work that day.

--Skipping four days a week. This one was a little rough in January, with 1 day being missed completely, and 4 others being done late. Out of 16 days, though, I don't think that's too bad. I'm hoping to do better in February, though I do need to buy a new jump rope; mine just broke. XD

--Yoga every Sunday. I was doing good on this one, but this last weekend was abnormal and through me out of whack. I did 4 sessions on time, and the 5th one was only a day late so I'm counting it a win, especially since the make up session was done after my afternoon shift last night.

--Dishes Mondays and Thursdays. Less than ideal on this one, with 2 missed days and 1 late, but dishes are my mortal enemy so this could be a lot worse. And February is a new month, so I shall try again for better results.

--Cook on Mondays. This one is going well so far. No missed days in January, and I tried a few new things too :)

--Post Thursdays and Sundays. Another one that I haven't missed any days on. All weekly posts have gone up on time, and all three Comfort Corner posts went up as planned. I'm hoping I can continue this trend in the coming months.

--My personal goals. Erm. Well, for one of them, I missed 1 day out of 8, and was late on 2 days, but for the other goal I missed 0 days, so... I guess it's okay? Definitely going to be putting effort in to doing better in February.

--Savings goal. Met 4/4 times. Yay!

--Reply to 5 comments on DW on Saturdays and Sundays. I got 7/8 on this one, but I'm cutting myself some slack on that day that I missed, because I was sick and I answered more than 5 comments on pretty much every one of those 7 days, plus answering some during the week as they came in.

--Donate to charity monthly. January's donation was made to The Downtown Mission, a local charity for helping homeless people.

--Read one book a month. In January, I read 3 books, so I'm calling this one a success. I don't think this pace will be sustainable for the whole year, but that's not necessary so I'm happy there.

--Play flute once a month. I was cutting this one kind of close, but I did do some playing yesterday so it still counts. I do still enjoy playing the flute, but I tend to forget its existence most of the time, so I'm hoping this goal will help change that.

--Keep seeing therapist. So far, this one is progressing as expected.

--Work on some things (too long to type out). I've made a plan for working on them, now I just need to enact it.

--Take a class. I signed up for a Zoomers Fitness class for the month of February, so this one is in progress.

--Find a quilt pattern and/or crochet quilt pattern you like. I have started doing this on Pinterest, but I haven't decided on anything yet.

--Participate in 3 bingo fests. I have made two cards for the Valentine's Bingo Fest, so this goal has been started as well.

--Make a set of crochet Christmas ornaments. I have two made so far. Still have a ways to go, but then again, we still have a ways to go until Christmas too.

--Updates for [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith. While this goal has been started, it's probably my least successful one so far, so I'm working on figuring out a way to change that.

--Extra money on the mortgage. I was able to put a bit extra on already, which is great.

--Track progress on the repeating goals. I did indeed do that for January, so that's good too.

Goals not started

I don't actually feel like writing out the whole list, but if you refer back to my original goals posts, you can see the missing ones. There are currently 9 goals that have not yet been started, and a lot of those are because they are seasonal or have a specific time frame. The only one that really should be further along than it is are the mittens for my dad. I was hoping to have the first mitten done by the end of January, but that didn't happen. I'll just have to put in extra effort to make sure the pair is done by the end of February.
