Weekly Update
Well, I might actually have the brains to do a proper weekly post this time around. First, the long weekend two weekends ago (Canadian here, so we do Victoria Day). It was a busy weekend but a pretty good one. Work gave us the Friday off in addition to the Monday so it was a four-day weekend, which is always nice. I went up to see some waterfalls with my sister, her husband and our niece. We all had a good time and we got to see some beautiful waterfalls and rock formations, although it did rain on us in the morning.
I haven't got much done on my quilt, although I have cut a few of the strips I need. I'm hoping this weekend will give me an opportunity to work on it some more. I did finally finish my upstairs puzzle last month! It took me three months longer than I wanted, but it did look nice when it was finished and it did get done eventually. I also finished my diamond painting yesterday, so that fulfilled my "finish by end of June" goal. It was rather tedious and I probably won't by myself any diamond paintings in the future, but this one was a gift from my sister and it is a rather pretty picture of tree frogs, so it was worth doing. I have already started on the next puzzle, because I was bored after work last night and I wanted to at least get it out. It was a gift from my aunt and it is a collage of old Kellogg's posters. It looks really cool, and based on how putting the frame together went, I think it should be a relatively easy puzzle to do. I also have my socks that I'm working on knitting, but progress has been slow there too. Here's hoping this month gives me a little more motivation than May did.
I also haven't had much luck with finding motivation to care for my garden, which is not great because I have a bunch of vegetable plants that have to go in the ground. I want to fix this before we get to far into the growing season, but I'm not altogether sure how my gardening pursuits will fair this summer.
I've fallen vastly behind on daily tasks and website updates but I'm optimistic that a new month will give me a fresh start and a chance to better than I have been the last couple weeks. I have a few ideas for getting going again, but it remains to be seen how effective they will be. I've also found it difficult to keep in touch with friends lately which is not great but does fit with the theme of a general lack of motivation to do anything at all.
I did manage to host the Mixed Quotes Bingo fest in May, and made both an opening and closing post, so I'm happy about that. I didn't make any fills on my own cards, but others seem to have had better luck than me and I knew going in that I might not have much time for creating. I am excited about this month's themes, and have made cards for both, so I'm hoping that I can get some good fills in this time. In particular the Food Fest looks interesting, because there are so many non-standard ways to make fills. :)
I'm feeling good today, and there hasn't been *too* much stupid at work lately, so that's nice. I also have a four-day camping trip with my sister coming up in two weekends, so that time away from work will be very nice indeed. Now we just need good weather for tent camping. *fingers crossed*
I hope everyone is having a good week and that you all have an awesome weekend. To anyone who is having a less than fantastic time right now, I hope your circumstances improve soon, and that life isn't being *too* ornery. Love, hugs, and best wishes to all! <3 :D
