Hello everyone! This week has been mostly decent, although I have been very low energy and tired, and work has decided to oscillate between okay and very annoying. The weather has been very hot, so I haven't done any weeding this week. I did manage to get and water the flowers, and everything seems to be surviving okay. I may need to make a shade cover for one of my hostas though, it looks a little sun burnt.

I've kept up on Duolingo, cooking, and dishes this week, although I did miss one day of yoga. Last weekend was fairly relaxed and Sunday was spent hanging out and playing games with my boyfriend. This weekend, we'll be going camping, which I'm really looking forward to.

I need to make time to get back to reading my book, and I need to practice my flute so that I don't accidentally forget it this month. I also really need to make time to reconnect with some friends, although I seem to have had very little social energy lately. Another thing I need to look into are ways to motivate myself. There are a few things in my life I'd like to change, but all of it feels like to much effort and I don't know how to go from wishing things were better to actually taking action to make them better. Something else for my to-do list, I suppose.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe in this weather. See you again soon!

Hi all! This is a very late weekly update, seeing as it's Monday and I have missed three or four posts at this point. I do like making my weekly posts, and I'd like to continue with them, but I've been feeling a pretty big social and creative drain lately. I'll try to get better at sticking to my schedule, but sometimes it feels like a whole lot of work. I also need to make my June Review post, but that will have to wait until at least tomorrow.

The last month has included a lot of fun things, including a pool party, a trip to a provincial museum and an amusement park, two weekends of Carrousel of Nations -a festival showcasing International foods and cultures,- relaxing time with my boyfriend, and some lunches with my good friend. The museum and amusement park in particular were a lot of fun and it was a wonderful long weekend spent with my boyfriend. :)

Another exciting thing that happened in June is that I completed a 30 Days of Yoga challenge. :D I'm really proud of doing this because I didn't miss any days for the whole month, even the ones when I was out of town. I also finished the French course on Duolingo and I've made a bit of progress weeding and reading some books, although not as much as I might wish.

I've spent a lot time recently watching YouTube videos by neurodivergent people, especially those with autism, and I'm more certain than before that I'm some kind of atypical. I'm not certain if it's autism (although that is still my leading guess), but it definitely seems to be something. I suppose an official diagnosis is unnecessary, since I don't need/want medication and I seem to get by okay without any external support, but some additional resources might be nice. I'll need to go hunting and see what I can find that I could adapt for my own use without needing medical advice/referrals. I may also need to look into seeing a therapist again, because life is once more overwhelming and having someone to talk to and offer coping strategies may help me process things.

All in all, life is going pretty well and I'm looking forward to what July brings. I hope you all are doing well and you are staying cool in this heat. See you next time! :D <3

Hi everyone! This week has been pretty good. I've made very good progress on Duolingo, I've stayed on top of the dishes, I played pickleball and tossed around a volleyball, I hung up some art that I've had for a while, and work has not been ridiculous.

Coming up, I have lunch schedule with my good friend, which is always wonderful. I'm going to volunteer at a local art fair this weekend, then walk around after and some friends have a gathering planned for later that night. Sunday involves a potential dinner out on our (hopefully) newly finished/refurbished patio. I'm also hoping to get some weeding done soon and read some more of my book, but we'll see how things play out.

I feel like I had more to say, but I can't remember what at the moment. I hope you all are doing well, have a great week!

Hello everyone! This week has been a good one, although I feel like I haven't gotten a lot of things done. I've read a lot of fanfic, I've done a lot of Duolingo, and I managed to keep on top of the dishes, but it feels like most other things fell to the wayside. I still struggle to find a balance between everything I want to do, but I am happy with what I accomplished this week.

On Friday, I hung out with my good friend in the evening, which was very nice. It's rare that we get to do that, but I was on day shift so everything worked out. Saturday was fairly low-key. I mostly did chores, but I also played Pandemic with my friends and we won the month of July, so that was very nice. :D On Sunday, my sister hosted an "Amazing Race," with tasks around our part of the town that were meant for walking. I ended up paired with my sister and we did more running than expected (I never run and my stamina sucks), so I was sore the next day but I has a lot of fun. She's done a couple different versions of this now and they are always a good time.

I am making decent progress on my yearly goals, although some are lagging further behind than others. I got a suggestion for changing the format of them for next year, since I was complaining about not having enough time to do everything I wanted, as well as having time to just relax. I think for next year (or possibly later this year), I'm going to try to split my goals into quarters. There will still be some goals that span the whole year, but I'm going to try to assign goals such as "knit this" or "do a puzzle" to a specific time of year so that I have less things to focus on. I don't know if it will work, but I'm willing to give it a try and see what happens.

One of the goals I routinely struggle with is my gardening goal. I dislike weeding but I do enjoy having a garden. So far, I have done decently with weeding and watering the garden, although I will need to weed again soon. My sister and I planted some flowers this year, mostly perennials, so the front garden will be fuller and we won't have as much to buy and plant next year. A fun fact that I hadn't really realized before: lettuce is perennial. At least, we have a type of lettuce that has been growing in our garden since we bought the house and we don't do anything to replant it year after year. It is nice having lettuce in the garden to pick though, and it's pretty low maintenance. :)

I'm also contemplating trying to find a therapist again. I feel like I could use some help finding coping and communication skills, although I don't feel nearly as out of my depth as the last time I had a therapist. I'd also like to talk to someone who has experience with neurodivergent people. I have no idea if I'm just quirky, if I fall in the range of "typical," or if there is something different about the way my brain functions. I'm not too concerned about this, since it doesn't interfere with my life, but I'm wondering if there are additional strategies and aids that would make things simpler if I had something more concrete than "different."

An outside opinion would be helpful, since I don't know the range for "typical" and "atypical" and I'm wondering if I'm seeing things that aren't really there, since I've been watching a lot of neurodivergent creators on YouTube recently. I haven't decided if this is something I want to pursue yet, but it's definitely been on my mind.

I hope you all are doing well. I hope you have a fantastic weekend, see you again next week!

First, this week I'm hosting a pool for [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith's half-price sale this week. The details can be found in my previous post, but the pool will be open until late Saturday night and I'm hoping to focus on the Shiv thread, if anyone wants to join in. :)

The rest of this post will probably be less coherent than normal. I've been finding that I'm really tired lately and that's making it hard for me to find the motivation to post and the spoons to organize my thoughts.

The last two weeks have been good. I practiced my flute, made progress on Duolingo, did a bit of weeding, didn't entirely fail at doing the dishes, and I read one and a half books.

Mother's Day weekend included flower shopping and planting, a Mother's day brunch at a nice restaurant, and some shopping.

Last weekend was a friend's birthday party -fun but socially draining-, a trip to a car show and dinner at a winery. It was a fun with, with a lot of cool cars. :)

Coming up, I'm going to hang out with my good friend, get some chores done this weekend, then maybe participate in my sister's amazing race. Hopefully I can get some sleep and see if that fixes some of my problems.

Have a good weekend everyone. :)

It's been a good week. :) I went to a Jo Dee Messina concert on Friday with my boyfriend. It was a fantastic concert and we had a great time. :) The weekend was spent hanging out, doing a bit of shopping, and getting some relaxing in.

I haven't done a lot this week towards my goals, but I have managed to keep up with the daily ones for the most part. I did finally finish the trim on my blanket! I also untangled and rewound two skeins of yarn, which was an exercise in persistence, patience, and frustration. I've definitely learned my lesson for next time though: if I have a "twisted skein," I need to wind it into a ball before using it, rather than simply untwisting and trying to work from the loop. That went about as well as trying to pull the end of an extension cord free, rather than unwrapping it fully. O.o

Coming up, I'm going to do lunch with my good friend, which is always lots of fun. My sister and I are taking our mom out on Mother's Day, though I'm not sure for which meal yet. I'm also going to try to start on the deer for my blanket this weekend so that I can finally finish that project.

I hope you all are doing well. See you next week!

Hello everyone! I'm sorry I missed the last few weeks, but I find I have a hard time catching up if I miss my intended day of Thursday posting. I definitely won't remember everything that's happened in the last three weeks, but April has been a good month, by and large.

Last week was our Easter shutdown at work, so I had Good Friday and the full week after it off. It was a very nice break, with some lovely family gatherings on the weekend and a mostly chill rest of the week. I did manage to find time to hang out with some of my friends during the week, which was extra nice. I also put together the eagle puzzle that my good friend got me last year. :) It was a very nice puzzle and I had fun making it.

On Sunday, my brother-in-law had a WWE themed party for his 30th birthday. There was a bouncy castle and a Royal Rumble style "wrestling" match, which was a lot of fun even though that's not normally my kind of thing.

I haven't done as much reading as I would have liked, probably due to the fact that I am still bingeing fanfiction lolol. Hopefully I will make more time in May, as well as making time again for my fibre projects.

Coming up, I have lunch with my good friend and a concert with my boyfriend tomorrow. Happily, this also means I have the day off of work :D I'm also hoping to use tomorrow to make my goal review post for April, since I had no energy yesterday and probably will not have time today.

I hope you all are doing well and staying safe. :) Have a great weekend everybody!

This is going to be a quick one, but I still wanted to say hi! This week has been fantastic and I even managed to keep up with most of my daily goals. I went on vacation with my sister and some family and friends for her 30th birthday. We saw a bunch of cool tourist things, went to an excellent hockey game, and saw a superb show at the Grand Ole Oprey.

We are headed to breakfast soon, then travelling back home. If I have time, I will sneak in a quick yoga session today and I will need to make a quick grocery run tomorrow so I have food for work. I've had a really good time, but I'm definitely looking forward to being able to just relax this weekend. XD

Take care everyone, have a great weekend!

Hi everyone! This week has been pretty good. I've mostly gotten back on track with my goals, although I still read more fanfic than anything else. I won't have much time for goals in the coming week, but I hope to have time to read my book and I'd like to work on my yarn projects later in the month.

Last weekend was a good one. On Friday night I had a chance to hang out with my good friend and my boyfriend. It was a very nice visit, even though I was super tired and not able to focus well. On Saturday, I went for dinner with a group of coworkers, then we made charm bracelets. The bracelets turned out very nice and we were able to customize them as much as we wanted. Later that evening, I got to hang out with a group of my friends which was also a lot of fun. Sunday was a low-key day, involving breakfast with my mom and sister and then chill time afterwards with my bf.

Yesterday, I got my nails done for my sister's birthday next week. They are burgundy and nude and I like them a lot, even though they are much longer than I'm used to. I had lunch with my good friend today, which was delightful as always. This weekend should be pretty relaxed, though I am really looking forward to celebrating my sister's 30th birthday!

I hope you all are doing well! Stay safe, stay healthy, have a great weekend!

This week has been a good week. I missed a few weekly goals, but I feel like I've been finding more of my motivation, and I did accomplish some things. I started reading my next book, I did a few yoga practices, I didn't entirely skip the dishes, and I had time to read a lot of a fanfic that I really like and am re-reading for at least the third time.

Over the weekend, I went to a friend's birthday party on Saturday. It was sushi themed and a really good time. :) On Sunday, my boyfriend and I went up to Hamilton for a yarn fair and to see a waterfall. The yarn fair was a lot of fun! It was a lot of small vendors from around the area, with a lot of really fun colours and "fabrics." Most of the yarn was some form of merino/nylon mix, though there was some pure merino, some alpaca, and a few other fibres I believe. Many of the yarns were variegated or brightly coloured, but there was a nice selection of natural colours and a few pastels as well. I bought 16 skeins myself, including pink, bright blue, and some rust coloured yarn. The waterfall was beautiful and it was a nice day for a walk, though a bit chilly. Dinner afterward was a delicious and we still made it home in time to get some reasonable sleep.

I went boxing with some of my coworkers yesterday, which was a lot of fun. It was a little less intense than I expected, but I am still sore today. I will probably join them again the next time they go. :)

Coming up, I get to hang out with my good friend tomorrow after curling, which is always a good time. I have plans to make charms bracelets on Saturday, then a get together with some friends. I also need to get my taxes done soon so I don't forget and blow past the deadline. I want to make progress on my current fibre projects because I'm excited to use my new yarn. A few ideas include a couple t-shirts, a hat and fingerless gloves for my boyfriend, a hat for myself, and possibly a shawl. I also have plans for a lot of the yarn I already have, so I better get cracking. XD

I hope you all are doing well and staying safe, take care everyone!

Hello everyone! This week has been pretty decent. I have managed to get a decent amount of things done, although I am learning that if I want to have leisure time before work, I only really have time for 2 to 3 other acivities. Seeing as how I greatly enjoy my leisure time, I am trying to cycle my "extra" activities so that I have time to relax but am still able to accomplish things. Done this week: I went through old records and got rid of what was no longer needed; I did yoga most of the required days; I cooked my lunches and also baked a Gluten-free coffee loaf to share with my friend; I did the dishes, though not as often as I should have; I played 5 songs on my flute; and, I picked most of the outfits I need for my trip to Nashville in a few weeks.

Over the weekend, I had a whole lot of fun doing glow in the dark curling with my good friends and bf and had fun at a local hockey game with my bf the next day. I've never done glow in the dark curling, but our team was a whole lot of fun and the glowing colours were very cool, though they wreaked havock on our depth perception.

Coming up, I have lunch with my good friend tomorrow, a birthday party on Saturday, and an out of town yarn fair on Sunday. I don't really need more yarn but I love all the pretty colours and I am going to shop with a plan this time.

In the next little while, I need to finalize my yarn plan, clean out my car and get an oil change, verify my packing plan for Nashville, and try to actually work on my fiber crafts, which I've been grossly neglecting.

March has been a very busy but fun month, and I'm looking forward to what April has in store. :D I hope you all are doing well and enjoying the very beginning of spring!
fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
Hello! This week has been a mostly good one, although my energy and motivation still seem to be missing in action. I had a wonderful weekend away with my boyfriend; the ropes course was fun, we got some shopping in, we walked around a local pond system, and we had the time to just enjoy each other's company. Today I had lunch with my good friend since I have a hair appointment tomorrow. We had good conversations and good burgers. :)

I haven't yet managed to work on my crochet or knitting projects, but I did read some of my book and I've gotten better at sticking with my yoga practice. I also managed to stay on top of the dishes this week, which is something I've struggled with lately. This coming week, I would like to stick with yoga, read more of my book, and work on at least one of my fiber projects. I also need to practice five more flute songs, since I practiced the first five from my Popular Hits book today.

This weekend, I have a one-day curling tournament with my good friend and my boyfriend, then a local hockey game the next day. Both events should be lots of fun, but I'll have to make sure to leave time for the chores as well.

I hope you all are doing well, have a great weekend everyone!
fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
I haven't been very good at updating weekly, but I am trying. Two weekends ago, I played in a two-day curling bonspiel with my boyfriend and two of our friends. We finished second last but we had a lot of fun and I'm glad we went. There was good food, good company, and a chance to test our skills against better opponents. Last weekend wasn't very eventful. I spent a lot of it baking with my boyfriend, then just hanging out. It was a rather nice, low-key way to spend our days off.

This weekend, my boyfriend and I have a trip to London planned. There is an indoor amusement park/ropes course we want to try out and some time away from everything will be nice. Tomorrow I'm having lunch with my good friend, which always makes for an extra nice Friday. :) I need to do my February goal review soon but I've been putting it off.

Unfortunately, I have done a lot of procrastinating via reading fanfic in the last two weeks, so I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I would like to. Yoga and fiber crafts are the two items that have suffered the most, so hopefully I can get those back on track soon. My weekends this month will be pretty busy, but there are a lot of fun things planned, so I'm looking forward to it.

I hope you are all doing well and you have a great weekend! Take care. :)
fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
Sadly, I missed last week's post, but I am back now. Both weeks have been pretty standard, thiugh I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I would have liked. I've read a whole bunch of fanfic and I practised 10 flute songs, but I missed multiple days of yoga, I haven't read any of my book, and I have not managed to work on either of my yarn projects yet.

Last weekend, I had lunch with my good friend on Friday, which was very nice. On Saturday, my boyfriend and I attended a paint afternoon hosted by my work and we ended up with some very nice paintings to take home. We went to dinner after that, then spent Sunday just hanging out.

Coming up, I have lunch with my good friend tomorrow and a curling bonspiel on Saturday. I'm hoping to keep up with any snow that may fall and to do a better job of my daily goals. I would also really like to read some of my book and work on the blanket and my shawl.

I don't have any other major plans coming up, so I'm hopeful that I can make some progress on the small things. I hope you all are doing well and have a great weekend!
fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
Well, I'm feeling better now, although I still have a lingering cough. According to the clinic doctor I saw on the weekend, it was likely a viral upper respiratory infection, which was not much fun at all. I have managed to get back to doing yoga, so I'm pleased with that. I didn't get much else done, but I have kept on top of the German and I just finished a unit in it today.

Coming up, I want to get outside for a walk, I'm going to have lunch with my good friend, I'd like to put together the frame for my puzzle and I'd really like to get the trim finished on my blanket. I only have one row left, so it shouldn't take me long and then I can focus on making the deer to go in the middle of the blanket. My sister is also planning a "galentine's" breakfast for Sunday, so that should be a lot of fun.

Later this month, I have a curling tournament I'm taking part in and a Canvas and Snacks day that has been organized through work. I'm looking forward to both things, since they should be a lot of fun. I'd also like to work on my shawl more this month and finally cut one of my fabrics for my quilt that I planned to make quite a while ago.

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and I wish you all the best! :) <3
fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
This is going to be rather short. I haven't been feeling well the last few days and I ended up staying home from work today. This means I missed some of my daily goals and a few of the things I wanted to finish this month, but that can't be helped.

Last weekemd, I went to Niagara Falls with my boyfriend. It was a really great weekend. :D We stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge, had a lovely fancy dinner Saturday night, saw the Falls on Sunday, and saw a pet fashion show that was raising money for the Niagara SPCA.

Coming up, I have a few things planned woth friends, provided I feel better by then. I will also work to finish up the things I missed in January, which hopefully won't take long.

There is also still time to make nominations for the Rose & Bay Awards. All categories need nominations, and I'm hoping I have enough time and energy tomorrow to get mine in. Check out the [community profile] crowdfunding community for more information.

Stay safe and healthy everyone, see you next week!
fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
Nominations for the Rose & Bay Awards are still open. All categories need nominations, and all the posts can be found on the [community profile] crowdfunding page. I plan to make my nominations this weekend. :)

This week has been fairly decent if bitterly cold. I've had a bit of trouble getting yoga done, but I did finish my book for January. :) I'm also in a good place with my fiber craft goals, so I'm happy with that. In the next week, I'd like to do more yoga, finish the trim on my blanket, and practice five more songs on my flute.

Coming up, I'm going to do lunch with my good friend, then I have a trip to Niagara Falls planned this weekend with my boyfriend. It should be a really fun time and I'm really looking forward to it.

I'd like to make a more detailed post, but I stayed up far too late last night and my brain is pretty toast right now. I hope you all are doing well and staying warm in this weather. Hopefully next week's update is longer. Until then, stay safe and have fun!
fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
Hello again! This week has been a pretty good one. The weekend was a nice combination of fun and relaxing, and I've managed to stay on track with most of my daily and weekly goals. Yoga has been done every day except Monday, French has been practiced every day, I did dishes Wednesday (though not Monday), and I managed to practice 5 out of 10 flute songs for the month.

I have started the shawl I wanted to knit, though I have only gotten through section 1 of 6. I haven't worked on the blanket yet, but that is next up on my list. I haven't read very much of January's book yet, but I have managed to finish all three diamond painting bookmarks my sister got me for Christmas and I built a 144 piece "almost impossible" sea life puzzle that I bought over the weekend. Next up, I'd like to build the eagle puzzle that my good friend got me for my birthday.

I have a few more goals I need to hammer out the details for, but I'm pretty happy with where I'm at. Coming up, I'm having lunch with my good friend, and I have plans with my boyfriend for Saturday. I'm hoping to have time to work on some of my projects and get some reading done.

I hope everyone is doing well, talk to you all next week!
fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
I almost forgot to post today. *headdesk* The Rose & Bay Awards are currently open. I am running the nominations for the Art and Poetry categories. The nomination posts can all be found on the [community profile] crowdfunding page, and nomination runs until the end of January.

The first full week back at work has been pretty good and I've done fairly well with all of my recurring goals so far. There are a few more I'd like to work on this weekend if the timing works out right. I'm excited for some of my goals this year; there should be some fun ones this time around. :)

Coming up, I'm doing lunch with my good friend and I have plans to spend time with my boyfriend on Saturday. There are no plans for Sunday yet, so I should be able to get some work done on my goals then.

Hopefully I have more to say next week, but for now, I shall say good night. I hope you all have a great week and a pleasant weekend!
fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
The first weekly update of the year! It probably won't be a long one because I'm pretty tired, The holidays went really well. All of the get togethers went well and were a lot of fun. I got some lovely presents from my loved ones that I'll enjoy, there were a few days to relax a bit, and a lot of games were played. Unfortunately, I did contract a stomach virus early in the morning of the 31st, but the worst of it had passed by the afternoon. I was back at work today, which went smoother than expected, even if I would have rathered stay home.

So far, my goals are on track, although I still felt under the weather yeasterday and didn't manage to do the dishes. I'm happy to see how this year goes and do some of the fun things on my list. :)

I feel like there was more I wanted to say, but I can't remember what it is at the moment. XD

I hope the holidays went well for everyone and your year is off to a good start!
