I have put this here for new visitors, so they can see what the nook looks like. You can also feel free to comment on this post as many times as you want, if you want to visit and there are no new suitable posts. :) I like all friends.

[P.S. In case anyone was wondering, I am in the Eastern Time zone (-5 UTC.) So if you ever want to know when my comments were actually posted, now you can figure it out :)]

The carpet is thick, soft and cream coloured, while the walls are a yellow bronze colour. In the corner along one wall there is a large sofa, able to seat 4 or 5 people comfortably. Along the other corner wall there is a smaller sofa for 2 or 3 people. In the middle of the furniture, there is a low, round coffee table, perfect for colouring at or for other craft activities.

There is a scratching post and a cat tree for climbing, which are both along the wall opposite the couch. A few fluffy beds have also been put out, in varying sizes, in case any one prefers the floor. There is also a large sturdy perch and a marked off area that says "Landing Pad" in case any winged friends want to visit.

There is now a blue chaise chair in the nook as well, which has been placed near the couch and is good for both sitting and spreading out lengthwise. There are also two armchairs; one an oversized, deep gray leather chair, the other a square fabric armchair in deep blue with light purple swirls on it.

There are two baskets off to the side. One contains fuzzy blankets, a variety of fuzzy and textured pillows, and a collection of stuffed animals while the other contains a variety of art supplies, ranging from colouring pages and blank paper to crayons and coloured pencils, and more besides.

So far, February has been off to a good start. I've done okay keeping up with yoga and the dishes, and I got my first flute practice in early in the month. I have also read one book and started a second, which helps towards my goal of five books by the end of March. I have also been working on my shawl, although I definitely underestimated how much work was left, so finishing it this month might not be possible.

Coming up, I have lunch with a good friend planned, I have plans with my boyfriend for Valentine's day and my sister is putting something together on Sunday for a Galentine's day. It'll be a busy weekend but it should be a lot of fun.

For the rest of the month, I'm going to try to balance getting all my different things done and also finding time to relax. Hopefully I haven't over-scheduled myself and I can avoid feeling overwhelmed by a mountain of things. I'm doing okay so far, but I'm going to keep an eye on this as the year goes on and adjust as needed.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe and warm this winter! See you all soon!

Here is the Janiary goal review. I think I'm off to a good start so far, but there are a few areas I could improve in. For a more detailed examination, look behind the cut.

Hello!

It's time for my second post of January, and 2026. Things have been good the last couple weeks. Work has only had minor annoyances and I've been doing okay on my goals so far. I also saw my good friend a few times, and my boyfriend and I went to my company holiday party. We had a lot of fun and managed to avoid hangovers the next day, yay for moderation!

Things I've done in the last two weeks: worked on website updates for [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith, gone skating twice, saw a hockey game with my boyfriend, worked on my puzzle, did less yoga and fewer dishes than I should have, and read a lot of fanfic. I'm rather satisified with what I've gotten done, especially with the website updates, but I do need to focus on doing yoga more, instead of brushing it off.

I have a curling tournament coming up this weekend, which I'm looking forward to, although I'm not sure how well I'll play. I also want to work on my puzzle more and start my second book of the year. I need to practice my flute as well, which I may be able to do tomorrow.

I hope everyone is staying safe and warm in this cold, snowy weather. See you soon, take care!

This week, there is hot cocoa, hot chocolate cookies, banana bread, a winter salad, and chili available. There is also a fireplace going in the corner, so it will be nice and toasty!

Hi there!

I'm not sure what to call my recurring post, now that it's no longer weekly, but this is my first update post of the year. My January is going well so far and I'm pleased with my goal list for the year, both in content and in format. My holidays were also really good, with lots of family time and a bit of time for relaxing.

Being back to work after the holidays has gone okay so far, with no disasters yet. This Saturday, we have our work "Christmas" party, all it is after the holiday this year. It's usually a fun time and I have a new dress that I'm excited to wear. I'm also doing lunch with my good friend tomorrow, the first time this year and this first time since the holidays, so that will be very nice.

This week, I've been reading my book and working on my first puzzle of the year. Over the holiday, I finished my surprise Christmas book and I built a booknook kit I was given. I'd like to get out for a walk and possibly some skating this weekend, but we'll see how that goes.

I hope everyone had a good holiday and is staying safe! This post has been a bit short, but I'll try to make the next one longer. Take care, everyone!

2026 Goals

Hi everyone! This year, I've decided to change up the format of my goals a little bit. I have a few goals that will run the whole year, then I broke the rest down into 3 month chunks. It might look like a lot, but I'm hoping this let's me narrow my focus a little and will aid in completing more of my goals fully. For a detailed look at this year's list, check behind the cut. :D

It is 2026! Time for my 2025 Goal Review, although my tracking fell by the wayside, so some of this will be based just on guesses. All in all, I don't think it was a bad year, although I definitely didn't hit as many goals as I would have liked. For a detailed look at 2025, look behind the cut!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone! I hope December is treating you well and you are able to stay out of any bad weather. There is a fireplace going, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, adult beverages, chocokate chip cookies, roasted sweet potatoes, and an oranament making (or just general crafts) area set up. Come have some fun!

I am now officially closing the pool for [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith's holiday half-price sale. If you still want to shop, the sale is open until end of day today (Friday December 19). I am off to make a paypal donation and write out a truly epic poem list, so keep your eyes peeled for new poetry! :D
fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
I will be closing the pool for [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith's holiday poetry sale Friday around midday. If you're looking to join, now is a good time to do it. :) Things I'm hoping to buy if more people join include the third Shiv poem, more The Big One poems, and more Rutledge poems. If any of this appeals to you, let me know. If you are looking for something else, that is okay too! The more the merrier, and targets can be as flexible as needed. Let's buy some poetry! :D

Hello everyone! The pool for [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith's half-price sale is still going on, if anyone wants to jump in. :D I also had more time to look at the list of poems for sale so I thought I would make a more detailed list of my targets in case that is helpful for anyone.

Currently, I'm looking at purchasing all non-Polychrome Heroics poems except for Coracle Shores and Crystal Woods. I'm more than okay with purchasing those poems if s9meone is interested, but for now, they are not on my list. I had Ysabet mark the Arts and Crafts America and Peculiar Obligations threads for the pool, but I'm leaving the rest open for now, in case people have their eyes on the cheap poems.

I have also marked "The Most Dangerous Animal in the Zoo," from the Iron Horses thread and "Shopping for College," and "Each Diverse Human Gift" from the Shiv thread for pool purchase. If there is enough interest, I will also aim for "The Bones of Chihuly," but that one is currently out of price range.

Many of the Polychrome threads with only one poem are on my radar, as well as a few The Big One and Rutledge poems. If you have any questions about targets, just let me know and I will provide more details. Happy shopping!

It's that time of year again! [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith is having her holiday poetry sale where all unsold 2025 poems are half-price. I will be running a pool for the sale and have a rather generous budget, so anyone who joins the pool will get the quarter-price rate on any poems purchased.

Since my budget is so large, writing out a target list would be really long. Instead, I will name my main goals below and, as always, anyone who joins the pool can name a target of their own. This is a perfect time to jump in if you really want to see a large poem especially, since it will be much easier to cover now than with my regular budget. If you need my paypal details, comment below and I will send them to you. I will close the pool late Thursday/early Friday, so that I can send the funds along to Ysabetwordsmith before the sale ends on Friday. Let's buy some poems!

Main targets:
I'd like to purchase poems from series that don't get much attention or half-price sales often, especially Arts and Crafts America and One God's Story of a Midlife Crisis.
Shiv is a favourite thread, so I'd like to purchase at least one of those epics. My thoughts are the college poem first, since that storyline has had a lot of attention lately, but the art poem is also catching my eye.
The Big One is another thread I'd like to buy poems from, maybe starting with the poem about Bluescreen and Blaze, since the pre-requisite to that was recently purchased.
If there is any money left over, Rutledge is another thread I enjoy reading, along with a few threads that have only one poem, such as Iron Horses.

Again, if there is any poem you really want to see, let me know and I'm more than happy to prioritize that one. Happy holidays everybody!

This is a little early, but I figured early is better than late. XD This week, I'm running a pool for [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith's half-price sale. If you'd like to join in, there is still plenty of time. Currently, my targets are the Finn Family thread and the Big One thread. I don't have any specific targets for the Big One at this time, so it's the perfect opportunity to pick the poem you'd like to read the most, if you are interested in that thread. Without any input, my selection process will likely be whatever fits in the budget after the Finn Family thread is taken care of.

In regular news, my goals have been progressing okay. Duolingo is still going strong, yoga is doing okay, I seem to be on track for my book goal, and most of my other ones are decent. I do have a few goals that fell off the face of the earth, but I'm not too upset about them. I definitely think I'm going to restructure my goals for next year though, so that should be an adventure.

Coming up, I want to make sure I hit my reading goal, take care of the leaves on the driveway and lawn, and stay on top of holiday preparations. Everything has been going pretty decently, so it should be okay, but life likes to throw curveballs. Lol

I hope you all are doing well and you have a good ending to the year! See you again soon! 😁

This week, [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith is having a half-price sale in Polychrome Heroics. If you spend $100 or more, you get the quarter price discount instead. I'll be running a pool again this time, which means everyone who joins will be able to get the quarter price discount.

My targets so far are the entire Finn Family thread, and whichever of the Big One poems will fit in my budget (mostly the shorter ones). If you join the pool, you can name any target you like, even if it isn't one I've listed. I will close the pool late Saturday night so I have time to collect the funds, then I will send the money along to Ysabet on Sunday.

If you are interested, leave a comment below and I will pass along my paypal info to anyone who needs it. Let's buy some poetry!

Update

fuzzyred: Me wearing my fuzzy red bathrobe. (Default)
I hesitate to call this a weekly update, but here I am, posting again. I'm not sure what it is, but posting has felt really difficult lately, so I've missed a lot of Thursdays. Things are going relatively well in my corner of reality though, so that's a good thing.

I've kept up with Duolingo and I haven't done too poorly with staying on top of the dishes and all of the falling leaves. Yoga has been so-so, probably around 75% of my intended goal; not terrible, but not as good as I'd like. I have read three books this month, which I'm really pleased with, but I think I may have forgotten about my flute practice. I've also had a rather hard time tracking my daily tasks lately, so I feel like I'll have to make a call to either remedy that or ditch it; I'm not sure which yet.

My birthday was earlier this month, and I had a lovely get together with some friends and family. I've also had a decent chance to hang out with my good friend and my boyfriend. It's mostly been small things, like lunches and going to a local national park, but sometimes those are the best kind of days. I need to make more time to see my family and to do more things with my friends, but I seem to struggle the most with making time for everything, especially if it means less time to do what I want (even if I want to do *both* things).

Something I've realized lately is that I don't have time for nearly as many hobbies as I'd like to. I'm not great at switching between things, so I'm likely to binge one hobby (say reading) and ignore the others (e.g. puzzles or knitting) in the meantime. I would love to be able to make time to do all of them at once, but I'm not sure how to make that happen. I'm not sure I *can* make that happen. It's not a problem, necessarily, it just means that I can't do as many things as I'd like in as short a time frame as I'd like. It also extends to not being able to pause the hobby/fun thing I'm doing to do "necessary" things, like dishes or yard work, or visiting family. I'd like to get better at managing my time and juggling my tasks, but so far, I don't have any ideas on how to make that happen.

In the meantime, I'm going to keep working on my goals as best I can, and I'm going to try to prioritize things I'd like to get done before the holiday season.

I hope you all are doing well and I hope to talk to you again soon! :D
