2026 Goals
Jan. 4th, 2026 07:11 pmHi everyone! This year, I've decided to change up the format of my goals a little bit. I have a few goals that will run the whole year, then I broke the rest down into 3 month chunks. It might look like a lot, but I'm hoping this let's me narrow my focus a little and will aid in completing more of my goals fully. For a detailed look at this year's list, check behind the cut. :D
Yearly Goals
-On Duolingo, complete 15 units in German, 5 Gold units in Polish, and 5 Gold units in Hawaiian
-Practice German on weekdays and practice French, Esperanto, Polish, and Hawaiian on the weekend
-Do yoga every day except Mondays
-Do dishes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays
-Post 2nd and 4th Thursdays; make the Comfort Corner posts on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays
-$X/week in savings
-Donate to charity monthly
-Practice flute twice a month
-Go to a "Dark Sky Night" at Point Peelee
--I'm not sure when this will happen, but I'd really like to make time this year, perhaps int he spring or summer.
-Use my Christmas gifts
--I have marked these with specific times, but I wanted a generic goal here as well. I appreciate all the things I got, and I want to make sure I make the time to use them.
-Mark tasks daily
--This one was challenging in 2025, but I'm hopeful it will go better this time around.
-Review goal progress for each month
--This year, I'm going to focus on just what is relevant in each month, rather than the whole year. I'm hoping this will make it easier to make my monthly goal review post and make tracking things easier at the end of the year.
January - March
-Read 5 books
-Cook once a week
-Take a "me" day on the 3rd Sunday
--I'm going to try to be mindful about this goal this year, but we'll see if I'm successful or if it's still kind of haphazard and half-forgotten.
-Medium or smaller coffees only, no coffee on the weekends
-Go skating (January)
-Monitor Diet (January)
--I am going to try to track what I'm eating, not calories, just types of food. I would like to lose a bit of weight and I figured it would help to know what I'm currently eating before I try to change anything.
-Do a puzzle.
--I got two puzzles for Christmas, so I'd like to do one of those early on.
-Finish crocheting my shawl (February)
-Paint by number (March)
--This was another Christmas gift and it is of dragons!
April - June
-Read 5 books
-Water plants daily
--This is going to be a tough one to do consistently, but I will try my best.
-Weed the garden once a week
--This one is also going to be tough.
-Take one walk a week
--I'm hoping that this will be easier to do in the nicer weather, rather than all year long.
-Cook twice a week
--I often don't have enough food to get me all the way through the weekend, so I'm hoping cooking more often will mean I eat out less often.
-Take a "me" day on the 2nd Sundays
-Medium coffee or smaller only, 4 coffees a week
--I want to cut back on the amount of caffeine and empty calories I am consuming, so I'm going to try to cut back on coffee again this year and hope it sticks better this time around.
-Finish baby blanket
--I just need to make the stuffed animal, so hopefully I can knock this one out this year.
-Cut fabric for my quilt
--I have not made any progress on this in the past, but I'm hoping that setting a small time frame will allow me to at least make some progress.
-Do a puzzle (June)
--This would be another Christmas gift.
July - September
-Read 3 books
-Water plants daily
-Weed the garden weekly
-Take one walk a week
-Cook twice a week
-Take a "me" day on 3rd Sundays
-Medium coffees or smaller only, 4 coffees a week
-Have treats only on Saturdays (July)
--I don't want to cut out things like sugar and chocolate completely or permanently, but I would like to try to cut back a little.
-Go swimming (July/August)
--I would like to go swimming at least once this summer.
-Two weight workouts a week (August)
--I don't have a good track record with the gym, but I do have some free weights at home. I would like to try to build some muscles and burn some calories, so hopefully the short time frame will help with sticking to it.
-Use crochet kit (September)
--This is a Christmas gift from a few years ago and I'd like to finally make time to use it.
October - December
-Read 2 books
-Rake leaves
--I did well with this in 2025, so hopefully I can do as well in 2026
-Cook twice a week
-Take a "me" day on 2nd Sundays
-Medium coffees or smaller only, 3 coffees a week
--This one might be hard, but I'd like to try.
-Two weight workouts a week (October)
-Make a shirt (November)
--I would like to knit or crochet a t-shirt or long sleeve shirt. I haven't felt brave enough to attempt this yet, but I'd like it give it a go.
-Finish scarf (December)
--I have a scarf in progress that I would like to finish knitting. It should go pretty quickly, if I can focus on it.
-*Assess food and exercise goals to help with weight loss goal
---A lot of my food and exercise goals are theoretical at this point. They may need to be adjusted if they don't work for me, or adjusted if I'm not meeting my goal. This will definitely be a work in progress but I'm hoping it goes well.
