Weekly Update

Happy Thursday everybody! This past week has been really good. I did better at practicing yoga each day, and I met all my other daily goals. My overtime shift went well Saturday, and I managed to get everything done so that I was able to prepare my dish for the potluck and arriving relatively on time. The potluck itself was a lot of fun and I'm really glad I got to go. There was a lot of good food, delicious cookies to decorate, fantastic company, and we played a hilarious game of Christmas charades.

On Sunday, my sister and I had my mom and her family over for our Christmas get-together. Once again there was delicious food, courtesy of my sister, and it was great to see family that I don't see very often. One unexpected thing that happened: I got proof that my Duolingo French practice is paying off! One of my cousins is a French teacher and she ended up having a conversation in French with my mom's oldest sister. I'm not sure I would have been able to reply to anything very well, but I understood a good 95% of the conversation, so that made me really happy!

I'm a third of the way through Unit 20 of Section 7 for the French course, so I should be able to complete that by early next week, which makes me happy. I also only have one snowflake left to make for the blanket I'm crocheting, then I just need to sew all the squares together. I haven't had a chance yet to think about what goals I want to set for 2024, but I did manage to get a review post written for October and November, which is something, at least.

I have a few batches of cookies still to make, but otherwise everything is pretty much set for the holidays. I am looking forward to [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith's Year End Poetry sale that runs next week; I have a whole bunch of funds set aside for purchasing lots of poetry. :) In the coming week or so, I'm going to try to finish off as many in progress goals as possible, so that my Christmas holidays are an actual break and not just time off of work that is jam packed with a million other things to do.

I hope you all are staying safe and warm and that the season is treating you well. Take care and happy holidays!
