April Monthly Goal Review

April was an okay month, though there were some big misses. Details can be found below.

--Earn 30XP a day on Duolingo. Try to complete one "topic" a day.
---I didn't miss any days in April.

--Practice French and Polish twice a week, practice Hawaiian, Esperanto, and German once a week. I might change this later, but for now I will keep this format in hopes of making progress on all five languages.
---I stuck to my practice schedule this month.

--Complete 15 units in French (Unit 17 of Section 8), complete 10 units in Polish (Unit 13 of Section 3), complete 5 units in Hawaiian (Unit 16 of Section 2), complete 5 Legendary units in Esperanto (Unit 11 of Section 2), complete 5 units in German (Unit 6 of Section 3).
---Here is where I'm at for this goal: Polish Section 1 Unit 4 (not aligned), Esperanto Unit 11 Section 2, Hawaiian Unit 13 Section 2, German Unit 4 Section 3, French Unit 8 Section 8. The Polish course got changed, so my goal isn't accurate for that one, but the others still stand. Esperanto is almost finished, Hawaiian should still be achievable, German is on track, and French should still be possible, but I need to put more effort in there.

--Purchase a gym membership (completed Jan 3). Go to the gym at least twice a week. I expect this one will need an adjustment period, since this is new this year and the time commitment is going to be tricky to figure out.
---I only had one week where I went to the gym twice, then I missed the rest of the month. I'm going to try to get back on track with this one in May.

--Do yoga every day except Mondays. However, if I don't do yoga on a day I go to the gym, I'll be okay with that.
---I missed eight days in April, the same as March. I'm going to count this as a slight improvement though, because three or four of those misses were during the week I was sick.

--Make a weekly post on Thursdays and make the Comfort Corner posts on the first third and fifth Sundays of the month.
---I have been on time with all my Sunday posts in April. I had one missed Thursday and one late Thursday.

--Cook once a week. I may need to try making things to freeze, so that I can have more variety in my meals and can stick to this goal better.
---I cooked most weeks in April, but I did miss one, and I still haven't figured out any kind of meal plan.

--Do the dishes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays as well as after any cooking or baking I do.
---I did not do well with the dishes this month. I only hit four out of the thirteen days I should have done them. I'll have to try harder on this one in May.

--Water daily and weed weekly during the growing season (May to September probably).
---I did one day of weeding in April because it was needing, though I probably should have done more. Now I just need to remember to stay on top of the weeding in May.

--$X/week in savings.
---Success for April!

--Donate to charity once a month. Create the list by January 15. (List created Jan 2)
---Done for April.

--Read one book a month. Make a list by January 15. (List created Jan 2)
---I read "Crazy for the Cowboy" in April. It was a fun read, and not too cookie cutter as far as romance novels go.

--Play flute once a month.
---Done in April. I played songs from my Shrek book. This involved some fast sight-reading from me, since a few of the songs were written for the flute's bottom range. After an attempt to play it as written, I ended up playing up an octave, because I'm not skilled enough to make the bottom notes actually come out.

--Participate in at least one bingo fest. Tentatively, the Valentine's fest looks most promising, though a few others look intriguing as well.
---April's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fest didn't catch my eye, but I'm seriously considering making a superhero card for the May fest.

--Work on old bingo cards.
---Still no progress.

--Finish socks.
---I was hoping to finish the socks in April, but that didn't happen. I did make some progress though, and as of April 30, there were only 42 rows to go until the socks are done!

--Do one knit or crochet project. I have several ideas for this, so hopefully I can achieve this early.
---I have crocheted 4 out of the 6 flower "coasters" I plan to make for my mom. For my next project, my choices are between another dishcloth, a basket, and a baby blanket. I plan to do all three, I just don't have the order sorted out yet.

--Get one colour of fabric cut for my quilt.
---No progress still.

--Join one crafting class. A local art store offers options, so hopefully I will find something that catches my eye.
---I still haven't joined any classes or even had time to look for any.

--Complete one puzzle.
---My sister and I completed the New York skyline puzzle together.

--Take one "me" day a month. Hopefully I can plan these better this year and actually get more benefit out of them.
---I fit in a Me day this month. I spent the morning resting and taking it easy, then I saw my grandma in the evening for dinner.

--Go rock climbing or do a ropes course. This might be one I can do with my sister, which will make it extra fun.
---I went to Clip & Climb for my sister's birthday. I had a lot of fun, and we did a few races on some of the double-sided walls.

--Do one outside activity a month.
---I went for a walk in a local park twice. I didn't see many birds either time, but the walks were still enjoyable.

--Answer DW comments as I get them. Answer 5 per weekend to clear any backlog that may accumulate.
---I missed one day for sure, and possibly a second one. I'm also starting to accumulate a backlog again, so I need to get on top of this.

--Fill in wall calendar with all recurring goals by January 15. (Done Jan 2)

--Improve inter-personal and intra-personal skills. I don't have a plan for this yet, but this feels like a weak area to me and I'd like to shore it up.
---I haven't made a plan or even though about this much yet.

--Determine whether finding a new therapist or other mental health professional would be beneficial. Make a plan with concrete steps to improve at least one slice of the Circle of Life.
---Still haven't done this, although I did update my Circle of Life recently, so it will be accurate for making a plan.

--Mark daily tasks as they are completed. Write a monthly goal review at the end of each month.
---I've been pretty good at marking tasks daily, and I'm still really liking having my calendar somewhere that is easy to see. I'm only one day late with the monthly review this time, so that's an improvement as well. :)

--Do one seasonal activity each season.
---I haven't done my spring activity yet, but I do have plans to go to at least one provincial park in May, so I should be good here.

--**--My sister's party at Clip & Climb this month was a lot of fun and stood out as something I wouldn't normally do. The retirement party for my coworkers was also a blast, and I got to see some folks I hadn't seen in a while, which was very nice.

Overall, April wasn't too bad. I had some big misses on a few individual goals, but I did well on most of the others. In May, I need to shore up my week spots, and take a look at anything that says "no progress." Wish me luck!
