Steady Hands
-a magic nine

Colourful painted snakes,
all mixed in a pile.
Choose just one to take;
black is the most valuable.
Now you have a decision to make:
Can you reach that one?
Don't let any others shake!
Success makes you smile;
the game was at stake!

The snakes are hard, but not as evil as the lightning bolts.

I've never played with the lightning bolts, but I think I did have some wooden sticks at one point, as well as the snakes.

Sadly, I couldn't find any reference to the lightning bolts. I believe mine were glow in the dark.

It's unfortunate that you couldn't find a reference for the lightning bolts, they sound like they would be a lot of fun to try. :)

Yeah, a good game for people with high dexterity. Think of something like a flat swizzle stick, a little wider at one end and narrowing to a point, but with several offsets to make the lightning bolt shape. The jags weren't very big, but were very prone to snag.

It was popular for years, but really hard because so many of the pieces had big lumps on one end, or holes. That damn ladder was all but impossible to extract.
