September Monthly Goal Review

September was a good month overall. A lot of fun things happened but I managed to keep most of my goals on track. More details below.

--Earn 30XP a day on Duolingo. Try to complete one "topic" a day.
---Successful daily practice in September.

--Practice French and Polish twice a week, practice Hawaiian, Esperanto, and German once a week. I might change this later, but for now I will keep this format in hopes of making progress on all five languages.
---I stuck to my practice schedule again this month.

--Complete 15 units in French (Unit 17 of Section 8), complete 10 units in Polish (Unit 3 of Section 4), complete 5 units in Hawaiian (Unit 30 of Section 2), complete 5 Legendary units in Esperanto (Unit 30 of Section 2), complete 5 units in German (Unit 6 of Section 3).
---**I suspect I won't really be able to assess this goal until December, but I have made progress in all five languages, and I'm relatively happy with where I'm at in all the courses.

--Purchase a gym membership (completed Jan 3). Go to the gym at least twice a week. I expect this one will need an adjustment period, since this is new this year and the time commitment is going to be tricky to figure out.
---I only made it to the gym twice in September, but I did have a few active days, so it's not too terrible. For October, I'm going to try to make it to the gym for cardio every day, although I'm not sure how that's going to go.

--Do yoga every day except Mondays. However, if I don't do yoga on a day I go to the gym, I'll be okay with that.
---9 missed days in September. October may be just as bad, since cardio will be my priority, but I am still going to try to fit yoga in where I can.

--Make a weekly post on Thursdays and make the Comfort Corner posts on the first third and fifth Sundays of the month.
---All three comfort corner posts were made on time. I made two on time weekly posts, one delayed one, and one missed one. This is better than last month so I'm happy.

--Cook once a week. I may need to try making things to freeze, so that I can have more variety in my meals and can stick to this goal better.
---I cooked every week and I have the bare bones of a meal plan going forward, so I'm very pleased.

--Do the dishes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays as well as after any cooking or baking I do.
---Only three missed days of dishes, which is not bad at all.

--Water daily and weed weekly during the growing season (May to September probably).
---I only weeded once, but I'm going to make an effort to do end of season cleanup in October.

--$X/week in savings.
---Success for September!

--Donate to charity once a month. Create the list by January 15. (List created Jan 2)
---Done for September.

--Read one book a month. Make a list by January 15. (List created Jan 2)
---I read "Prince of Darkness" this month. It was a historical mystery novel, with more political intrigue than I usually read but I still enjoyed the book. I had started another one, but I gave up on it rather quickly because of some questionable events in the book.

--Play flute once a month.
---Done in September. I played some songs from my Taylor Swift book this month. I feel like only one song was recognizable, but I haven't practiced this book much yet, so that's to be expected.

--Participate in at least one bingo fest. Tentatively, the Valentine's fest looks most promising, though a few others look intriguing as well.
---I did not participate in the September bingo. I may make a card for the Fall fest bingo in October though.

--Work on old bingo cards.
---I didn't manage to work on any old cards this month.

--Finish socks. (Done in May)
---I finished my socks! They look really good and they fit and I'm so happy I finally finished them! :D

--Do one knit or crochet project. I have several ideas for this, so hopefully I can achieve this early. (Done in March)
---I have made a bit of progress on my Fair Isle scarf I'm knitting. I have also gotten all the hexagons sewn into rows, all the ends from the seams tucked in, and three rows sewn together for the baby blanket! I was hoping to have the whole blanket together this month, but I'm still happy with the progress I've made.

--Get one colour of fabric cut for my quilt.
---No progress still.

--Join one crafting class. A local art store offers options, so hopefully I will find something that catches my eye.
---My boyfriend and I did a Sip and Swirl paint night at a local restaurant! The painting was of pumpkins, and even though they didn't turn out the best, the class was still a lot of fun. :D

--Complete one puzzle. (Done in August)
---No new puzzles completed in September.

--Take one "me" day a month. Hopefully I can plan these better this year and actually get more benefit out of them.
---I succeeded here this month. I had a relaxing Sunday, went for a walk and just decompressed. It's nice being able to take a planned day for myself and actually recharge.

--Go rock climbing or do a ropes course. This might be one I can do with my sister, which will make it extra fun. (Done in July)
---My boyfriend and I went to the ropes course at Boler Mountain in early July. It was a lot of fun!

--Do one outside activity a month.
---My boyfriend, a few of my coworkers, and I did a 5K obstacle course race in a local park. It was a whole lot of fun!

--Answer DW comments as I get them. Answer 5 per weekend to clear any backlog that may accumulate.
---I did not succeed here and I'm starting to accumulate comments again.

--Fill in wall calendar with all recurring goals by January 15. (Done Jan 2)

--Improve inter-personal and intra-personal skills. I don't have a plan for this yet, but this feels like a weak area to me and I'd like to shore it up.
---Nothing here yet.

--Determine whether finding a new therapist or other mental health professional would be beneficial. Make a plan with concrete steps to improve at least one slice of the Circle of Life.
---I still haven't looked into whether I want to get another therapist or not.

--Mark daily tasks as they are completed. Write a monthly goal review at the end of each month.
---I did fairly well marking tasks as I did them this month, and I'm getting the goal review out before October starts!

--Do one seasonal activity each season.
---I made it to the hawk festival! My boyfriend and I ended up being able to go together and we did see a few hawks. I think I also saw a great blue heron, though I could be mistaken on that. We actually saw a fair number of hawks to and from the park, and on the way home we saw a bald eagle swoop down to pick up some road kill. :D

--**--Random fun activity for August: I went to Cedar Point with one of my coworkers. :D We had a great time! I also saw a Green Day concert with friends. :D

I'm really pleased with how September went. Most goals went well, other than yoga, and I did a lot of fun things. Here's hoping October goes just as well.
