I think he has a strong moral compass and a clear idea of what he sees as right and wrong, even if that doesn't align perfectly with the mainstream ideas of right and wrong. Then, he does what is necessary to enforce his code, and he's not to fussy about the methods. So, ethical grey hat, as opposed to white hat or a whack job/asshole?
