You don't need to know much about that world to enjoy the poem, though it will help to know that SPOON (Super Power Organizational & Operational Nexus) is a mostly volunteer run organization that deals with people with super powers, with a heavy push for heroism. Kraken is a supervillain organization that does pretty well in making sure it's members are paid and happy, and have a way out if it's needed.
Full Moon Woes

I've heard many things about SPOON,
some good, some bad;
it's best not to decide to soon.
After a very strange full moon
I thought it best to see what options I had,
I've heard many things about SPOON.
My life is now a ruin
and for a support system, I'll be glad;
it's best not to decide too soon.
I'm not sure heroics is a boon
and I feared I've gone a touch mad;
I've heard many things about SPOON.
My soul for a mentor who won't swoon!
I'm beginning to think the black's not so bad,
it's best not to decide too soon.
Kraken sings such a different tune,
they make my feel a lot less sad.
