Weekly Update

Well, it's been a pretty decent week. I finished the scarf I was working on, which was short enough that I turn it into a muffler circular wrap thingy but I'm happy with how it turned out. I also invested in some stickers, so now I have an incentive to complete all the tasks each day. I have a calendar that shows all my on-going new year's goals, and I've been checking off the ones I get done, but now if I finish a whole day, I get a sticker! Which is nice in itself, but different amounts also get me things. 5 stickers means I can treat myself to a magazine (puzzle, knitting, home&garden or otherwise), 15 means I can splurge on a dessert like and ice cream or a cheesecake slice from down the street, and a whole month of stickers means I can choose one or two prints from Cryptid Creations. It seems to be working okay so far, but we'll see how it goes.

I made a post earlier in the week about Erotic versus Sexual and whether they were two different things and I got a lot of amazing responses! Thanks to everyone who commented, and I *will* get to responding, just sometimes forming words is overwhelming, especially if I want to be eloquent and coherent. Side note there: If you are an anonymous poster, leaving a signature of some kind might be helpful, so I can track who is who. This is absolutely, totally optional, and there is no judgement at all if you don't want to sign (or if you want to but forget). This could be your name, a username from another site, an initial, an emoji, or some phrase, like how Bob Ross mentioned on an episode that the coolest signature he ever saw was an artist who always signed "Grandpa's wife." So, it could be anything, or it could be nothing, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there. :)

I started on my paint by number today, as well as playing a lot of phone games, because I took today and tomorrow off. I'm hoping to use tomorrow to get some editing and entries done, but we'll see how that goes. I also started crocheting my second basket again for the first time in a long time, so hopefully I can finish that in a timely manner. I'd also like to do a little more work on list coping skills, and then pick out a couple to try out; I have a few in mind that seem like they might work (stickers!).

Other random things that have been on my mind: music. I've actually been thinking about two different things relating to music. The first is the fact that my music knowledge is way more limited than I realized, and there is SO MUCH stuff I've never heard, and I'm not sure why. At the top of the list here is powerful women artists, powerful songs about women, or songs about powerful women. I was looking for a particular song (that I did not find) and I ended up with a list of songs by women like Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn, which led me to Beyonce, and I really want more of that kind of stuff. Among the songs I listened to were "The Pill," "Just Because I'm a Woman," and "If I Were a Boy." If anyone has any recommendations, of any kind, I'd be happy to hear them. I like trying new things.

The second thing regarding music is how much I like deep voices and how I wish there was a way to search for music based on that criteria. An example of what I mean is at 2:02 of I'm Coming Over by Chris Young. His voice goes so deep and gravelly and it gives me shivers and is just SO good to listen to and I want more. I've always had a preference for deep voices, I find them sexy, and high voices tend to grate on my ears more. Maybe because my hearing is a bit sensitive? If anyone knows how to find deep voiced singers, or has a recommendation, again, I'd love to hear them.

I think that's it for this week... Duolingo! I think I mentioned it a while ago, but I did get my Golden Owl in Hawaiian, and I've been making progress on both Esperanto and French. My goals there might be out of reach, especially since I wanted a Golden Owl in Polish ON TOP OF the other three, but I still have more than 10 months to go, so who knows how it will go.
EDIT: I just checked Duolingo, and apparently I do NOT have my Golden Owl in Hawaiian yet. I thought I did... Maybe Duolingo added more lessons, or possibly I just remembered wrong. Off to practice I go.

I hope everyone is staying safe and warm, I know a lot of the east (?) got hit with a BUNCH of snow, so hopefully it hasn't hindered anyone too much, and there were no accidents, shoveling or otherwise. Hugs and hot cocoa to you all!
