fuzzyred | A New Thing

So I've been thinking about doing a thing for a little while. I would be posting the first amd third (and sometimes fifth) Sunday of the month, and it would be similar to

ysabetwordsmith's Cuddle Party. I plan on calling the post "Comfort Corner" with the idea being you can just flop down for some quiet comfort if you need/want it. The post would be there for commenting anytime you want, with a new one posting every other Sunday for freshness.

Sometimes I just need a soft spot to let my emotions be, so I see myself writing my fair share of comments. No pressure, no need to comment if you don't want to and simply showing up and posting "Blah." is more than fine :)

With that, I'd like to welcome you to my first offical Comfort Corner post amd offer hugs to anyone who wants them. I have hot chocolate, cookies, colouring books and yarn, if anyone is interested. Below is a description of what my corner looks like :)

The carpet is thick, soft and cream coloured, while the walls are a yellow bronze colour. In the corner along one wall there is a large sofa, able to seat 4 or 5 people comfortably. Along the other corner wall there is a smaller sofa for 2 or 3 people. In the middle of the furniture, there is a low, round coffee table, perfect for colouring at or for other craft activities.

There is a scratching post and a cat tree for climbing, which are both along the wall opposite the couch. A few fluffy beds have also been put out, in varying sizes, in case any one prefers the floor.
There is also a large sturdy perch and a marked off area that says "Landing Pad" in case any winged friends want to visit.

There is now a blue chaise chair in the nook as well, which has been placed near the couch and is good for both sitting and spreading out lengthwise.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

The Mandelbear comes in, accompanied by two cats. The black one surveys the room and immediately scrambles to the very top of the cat tree. Destra likes to be where she can survey her realm. The tortie, Ticia (it's short for Morticia, but nobody has called her that since the day we got her from the shelter), stretches out sphinx-like on the arm of the chaise, obviously expecting the bear to sit next to her.

Which he does, after setting a box of brownies on the table and delivering hugs to anyone who indicates an interest in one.

Ooo! Kitties! And brownies! Hello friends! I'm glad you could make it!

J leaves Destra to survey for new kingdom (for now) and goes to collect a hug from the bear and see if Ticia is interested in pets.

Desti (which is what we call her most of the time), seeing that Ticia is getting petted, trots over and jumps into J's lap. Desti is very much a lap cat. Even if there's already a laptop in the lap.

For some reason I don't have a Desti icon yet.

J settles more comfortably into the couch, to offer a better lap. She then pets both cats; two hands = the ability to pet two cats at once.

My sister's cat is similar. He hasn't full on jumped into my lap with the laptop, but he will poke his nose or paws at it, or my phone. He has pretty much plopped himself on top of my book, though, if I happened to be reading at the time.

There's the pattering of little doll feet, and Chucky bops in. Walking in behind him is Mazikeen.
Maze takes a brownie from the bear's box, and waves before smiling and offering thanks, and Chucky runs to hug Fuzzy J.

Hello! We're glad to be here!

Maze waves her hand and hot cocoa and cookies materialize beside the brownies.

"Chucky!!" J gives an enthusiastic hug, always happy to see Chucky.
"I'm glad you made it!"

"Hello Maze, it's nice to meet you. I have chocolate chip cookies out, what kind did you bring?"

So bored right now. Working is boring. *J ports into the nook, snags a cookie and picks up a ball of yarn and some needles. She has a book from her grandma that has all kinds of different stitch patterns in it and she is eager to try them out. Now if only she could knit while at work, she'd be a lot less bored...*

I hate being short! Slicing the plastic off of things taller than your head is no fun. Worse, I have to pull a plastic sheet out from under a piece of string. Even on my tiptoes, stretched as far as I can, I can barely reach this string. I'm 5'3", short but average-ish for a girl, why make it so difficult for so many people to reach? Shorter pallets people, shorter pallets!

*runs away to flop down with a brownie, a cookie, and a cup of hit cocoa. A blanket is collected, as well as a stuffed animal.* I refuse to leave my corner today, the world is too frustrating. *grumpy pouty face 😾*

Visiting with family when out of spoons equals an anxious Fuzzy J. I was invited for dinner earlier in the day, didn't realize I would be so tired. Went home after working overtime to make my lunch cause I could tell I was almost out of spoons. Good call, because my lunch is now made but it means the visit is occuring on no spoons.

I love my dad and grandma but they can be overprotective and overbearing sometimes. Not the best mood for that today. Trying very hard to stay calm amd centered and not fall apart.

*hides in the corner with a Webkinz horse (the grey one) and a weighted blanket, hoping the rest of the visit goes well*
