Much delayed and probably brief

So this is the weekly update that should have happened on Thursday, July 27, but I had so much stuff going on that I never posted it.

Last week I was on vacation from work because it was our yearly summer shutdown. I saw friends on Friday and Saturday, saw my grandma Sunday to Wednesday basically with most of Monday spent at home. Wednesday I also went to see my aunt for her birthday and while I was there I had a friend text me and ask if we could talk. Now, from that friend, that was a really alarming sentence and I immediately thought "Oh no, what terrible thing happened?" Apparently, that terrible thing was a good mutual friend passing away from a suspected heart attack. I'm doing okay for the most part, although it did hit me kind of hard today, and I will be going to the visitation tomorrow.

The rest of my vacation went well and will be detailed more in this week's update. All in all, my work-free week was pretty good, just had the unfortunate and shocking news of my friend's passing.

Empathy. We lost my sister-in-law a few weeks ago, and the Zoom memorial was today, and tech-supporting upset, non-techie people had me in a mood as foul as a cranky Canada goose...

And then a couple people I count as `ohana for good reason came along and showered me with peace and love and music, and now I can cope again. And I've got vaca starting Thursday, and one of those people will sing to me and there will be healing magics and... yeah. The timing really couldn't be more perfect. And there is another element I won't talk about here, but it is very, very good...

Oh man. You have my deepest sympathies for having to be tech support to non-techie emotional people; zoom isn't necessarily inuitive to those who can't tech. (And of course, my sympathies for your loss, although I believe I did already send those.)

I'm very glad you had the support of people who could restore your cope, and the vacay and singing and healing sounds all very well timed. If you want to talk about the other thing, or anything, you can always PM me, though of course, you don't have to share anything you don't want to.
