Weekly Update

Well, I'm on time this week, so go me. This last week and a half has been ... a lot. My vacation week had a lot of family time and a fabulous trip with my sister over the weekend. It also had a close friend passing last Wednesday and the visitation was yesterday.

My sister, her husband, and I went up to Ball's Falls, Niagara Falls, and Sand Banks Provincial Park last weekend. All of the places were beautiful, the falls in both of the first time places were gorgeous, and it was the first time going to Ball's Falls so it was great to see a wonderful place I hadn't seen before. While we were in Niagara, we did the White Water Walk, so we got to go down to almost river level downstream of the falls. They are Class 6 rapids and it was amazing to see how fast and turbulent that water is. I've seen the falls multiple times, but that was my first time seeing the river like that. Nature always amazes me and it was great getting to see something so magnificent. Sand Banks was also really cool because it had three different beaches, all of them unique, and it had sand dunes with forests growing. Apparently this also happens in other places, but to see straight, plain sand in front of me and to the sides, and then trees just beyond that was incredible. There were also places where you could see little bits of grass or succulent looking things popping out of the sand which were also really really cool. Nature man, it's nuts.

The visitation yesterday was harder than I expected. It was open casket, so I think that made it harder. I suspect I'll be processing for awhile yet, but I am okay on the whole today. I'm very glad I didn't try to work a half-day yesterday though, that would have been rough.

Once again, I didn't manage to read my monthly book, but I am now fully caught up on my temperature blanket, so that is very pleasing. I'm hoping I can stay caught up now, and I'm at the point where I'll need to start thinking about a pattern for the border and how I wanted to split the two days that will make up the edges of the blanket. I also want to try to start exercising a little more and getting into better shape. This goal is still a struggle for me, but with any luck I can find something that makes it less of an obligation and a bit more fun to do. I've been slacking a bit with my garden so I need to step up my weeding game there; my poor flowers are probably in danger of being overrun at this point. Everything does seem to be healthy though so at least that is good.

Take care of yourselves friends, and if anyone needs to talk, or just chill, I'm here. :)
