Bingo Fill: Solo Game Night

This poem fills the "Solo Game Night" square on my 5x5 Mixed Card for the Valentine's Bingo Fest.

Game On

Being alone doesn't mean you can't have fun.
On the shelf a collection has begun
of games for one or more.

Some are designed for solo play,
others have modified rules, best with more players but serviceable for one,
yet others that say two or more but can be creatively tweaked to suit needs.

The night is yours,
hearty snacks and comfy clothes,
and the favourites set out, ready to play.

It might be just you tonight,
but everything is set for a night of kickass fun,
victory not over another but beating the game as best you can,
enjoying the challenge of improving each time.

For cards I mostly just play solitaire, but there other card games that can be played solo too. I'm working on creating a board game collection that includes solo play options, since I'm most often by myself.

Ooooh. Solo board game... Depending on the subject matter I know someone who might be interested in beta testing it. Though cross-border shipping is kind of a PITA right now...

I don't have any that I've made, though I do have a few that I managed to find in stores that are pretty fun. "Dungeon Academy" is the first one that comes to mind. It involves dice and drawing a path and defeating monsters, and it's one of those that works solo (high score) or with friends (high*est* score).

Ya, shipping is kind of a PITA all around at the moment.
