Comfort Corner

The carpet is thick, soft and cream coloured, while the walls are a yellow bronze colour. In the corner along one wall there is a large sofa, able to seat 4 or 5 people comfortably. Along the other corner wall there is a smaller sofa for 2 or 3 people. In the middle of the furniture, there is a low, round coffee table, perfect for colouring at or for other craft activities.

There is a scratching post and a cat tree for climbing, which are both along the wall opposite the couch. A few fluffy beds have also been put out, in varying sizes, in case any one prefers the floor.
There is also a large sturdy perch and a marked off area that says "Landing Pad" in case any winged friends want to visit.

There is now a blue chaise chair in the nook as well, which has been placed near the couch and is good for both sitting and spreading out lengthwise.

Today's spread includes lemonade, iced tea, macaroni salad, grilled chicken and chocolate-caramel bars. Stay cool friends!

Lured by the cat beds, and small grey cat, who seems more fog than form, drifts in the comfort corner and settles down

Can do. Fuzzy J collects a colouring book and coloured pencils and settles down on a cushion near the cat, but not too close, content to colour quietly unless and until the cat changes his mind about pets

The bear shambles in with a salad of spinach, pickled beets, and lemon mint. He makes a plate of that and the chicken, and wanders over to J. "I see ideas have rubbed off! Good!" He sits next to J, open to cuddles

J pauses in her colouring, happy to cuddle with the Bear. "Yep. I like ysabetwordsmith's Cuddle parties, and I don't mind if I get comments on posts long after I put them up. Posting twice monthly keeps it fresh and hopefully makes it more likely for people to come around. Having a quiet spot to chill is nice. And look," J pulls out her burrito blanket and some fuzzy textured pillows. "I borrowed some ideas for the decorations too." She smiles contently and settles in for a good snuggle, happy to have company.

Abruptly, J wiggles out of the snuggle and shimmies over to the far end of the nook. Once she is away from her friends, she ripples and shimmers before turning into a red dragon. Well this has never happend before. Dangit, I hope this form has telepathy.

Oh good. I don't think this form can do human speech, though I haven't tested it yet

Another bear comes in and sets out a sourdough baguette, several kinds of cheese, olives, several knives, a stack of small bamboo cutting boards the right size for serving cheese on, and several bags of cat treats.

While he's setting things out two cats, a tortoiseshell and a black mini-panther, come in after the black one figures out how to open door. The black one immediately homes in on the other bear and climbs into his lap, while the tortie attacks the scratching post. A rather insubstantial-looking grey tabby arrives -- you didn't actually see how he got in -- and jumps up onto the table. The bear scoops him up and carries him and a cheese board over to the couch.

(to J:) I'm Destra's permanent human, though she adopts others from time to time...

This bear takes a centering breath, with an air of "Okay, if that magic works in here, maybe this does..." As he concentrates, several slices fall off the baguette and slide over to one of the small boards, to be topped with slices of cheddar. "Accio panem!" and the board floats with surprising speed into his hand. One of the slices skitters a bit... "Right. _Practice,_" he grins.

Yes indeed. Nothing wrong with that. My tongue does that all the time when I'm trying to practise my Polish :p

At the sound of the new arrivals, J shimmers and ripples and switches from dragon back to human.

She takes a plate of baguette and cheese because shifting takes energy and she's hungry now. She adds some chicken and dessert to her plate as well.

"Hello all! It's good to see you again."

As soon as she's done eating, J feels the ripple again, and instead of admiring the mini panther in human form, she is a tiny red kitty. Her fur immediately bristles, turning her into a puff ball and she hides in a pile of pillows.

The tabby, who comes by his name "Curio" honestly, jumps off the bear's lap into the pile of pillows looking for the red kitty.

"Darn! I was about to ask him to pass some snuggles along to Ame. Guess I'll try to catch up later."

*sniff sniff* Upon scenting the tabby, kitty J sticks her nose and ears through the crack in the pillows. She wants to get a better look at the cat she can smell; he seems like he might be friendly.

The tabby touches noses with the red kitty.

The red kitty sneezes amd startles backwards, before slowly creeping toward to touch noses again.

The tabby winks slowly, and nuzzles. He is decidedly friendly.

After the nuzzle, the red kitty makes the cat equivalent of a happy squeal and flops on top of the pillows, limbs akimbo, inviting cuddles from the tabby, and maybe pets too.
