Comfort Corner

The carpet is thick, soft and cream coloured, while the walls are a yellow bronze colour. In the corner along one wall there is a large sofa, able to seat 4 or 5 people comfortably. Along the other corner wall there is a smaller sofa for 2 or 3 people. In the middle of the furniture, there is a low, round coffee table, perfect for colouring at or for other craft activities.

There is a scratching post and a cat tree for climbing, which are both along the wall opposite the couch. A few fluffy beds have also been put out, in varying sizes, in case any one prefers the floor. There is also a large sturdy perch and a marked off area that says "Landing Pad" in case any winged friends want to visit.

There is now a blue chaise chair in the nook as well, which has been placed near the couch and is good for both sitting and spreading out lengthwise.

There are two baskets off to the side. One contains fuzzy blankets, a variety of fuzzy and textured pillows, and a collection of stuffed animals while the other contains a variety of art supplies, ranging from colouring pages and blank paper to crayons and coloured pencils, and more besides.

Today there is lemonade, iced tea, hot tea, shortbread cookies, potato salad and pasta salad.

:) I enjoy shortbread a lot, though my preference of drink is lemonade, or hot tea. Mmmm, shortbread and earl grey tea :) Yes, snuggles are good :D *hug*

I got Earl-greyed-out on a plant trip back in 1990 and have never re-acquired the taste... 'course, that's why a good tea shop has SO many different flavours.

One of my favourites is Purple Blend, which is Kenyan purple tea (yes!), dragon fruit, lime peel, passion flower, vanilla, and GLITTER!

I find I like dark teas better than green teas, and I have to watch, because some of the fruity ones taste too sweet for me, though I am always up for trying something new. One that I tried recently that surprised my was Lady Grey tea; it was fruitier than expected, but I think I liked it anyway. Just goes to show how many variations of "black tea" you can make.

Glittery tea! I'm rather curious whether this would be too sweet for me, or if it would be ok...

Purple is definitely in the "Not Too Sweet" category... the lime and dragonfruit give it the snap without being *at all* cloying... Friday did really well with this. (She's got two others along those lines: This one is for Prince, and she's got Stardust for Bowie, and Mercury for Freddie. Each different, all have glitter... :)

That will definitely be one to keep in mind then. I tried a caramel chai today, and while it smelled sweet like caramel, there was only a touch of it in the taste, so it worked out alright.

had surgery! *came out of general anesthesia and DIDN'T physically punch anyone*

have called surgeon's office 3 separate times now due to RIPPING pain at surgical sites and have not received any calls back yet.

got furloughed, put on short term, had to apply for unemployment...GAH!

pain is bad enough I can't do the sleeps IRL yet, and moving hurts. They gave me some of the strong stuff to use if the pain got really bad, but I'm trying very hard not to use it because, well.

Oh that bites. I hope the pain is better this morning, I know the feeling of not wanting to take pain meds, especially the heavy duty ones.
