Comfort Corner

The carpet is thick, soft and cream coloured, while the walls are a yellow bronze colour. In the corner along one wall there is a large sofa, able to seat 4 or 5 people comfortably. Along the other corner wall there is a smaller sofa for 2 or 3 people. In the middle of the furniture, there is a low, round coffee table, perfect for colouring at or for other craft activities.

There is a scratching post and a cat tree for climbing, which are both along the wall opposite the couch. A few fluffy beds have also been put out, in varying sizes, in case any one prefers the floor. There is also a large sturdy perch and a marked off area that says "Landing Pad" in case any winged friends want to visit.

There is now a blue chaise chair in the nook as well, which has been placed near the couch and is good for both sitting and spreading out lengthwise.

There are two baskets off to the side. One contains fuzzy blankets, a variety of fuzzy and textured pillows, and a collection of stuffed animals while the other contains a variety of art supplies, ranging from colouring pages and blank paper to crayons and coloured pencils, and more besides.

Extra offerings today include pancakes, waffles, caesar salad, macaroni salad, bread and fixings for a sandwich bar, and all manner of teas for drinking.

Ah, that is a very interesting perspective, thanks for sharing :) I found Ysabet's Samhain ritual very intriguing as well, though it's not something I could do myself.

There are two schools of thought as to rit and they don't often overlap. Ysabet likes to write hers all the way out, and go word-for-word. I am most comfortable when I am completely winging it, speaking from the heart. But then, I am _also_ most comfortable in small groups or even solo, too; such strategy works better when you're small than when the group is large enough to need Serious Projection of Voice...

It makes sense that different kinds of people would have different styles, and that different styles make work better for various size groups as well. I suspect the level of comfort might influence things a bit as well, at least in the beginning. Following word for word is easier for a novice than winging it (at least in my personal experience.)

I had a pretty good Halloween. Gave out some treats, then saw my cousins, and ended up spending the night with them. All in all a pretty good Saturday, and decent weather for it being Halloween.

Oh nice :) I carved a pumpkin with an owl yetserday too; I did a bat one last weekend with my mom and sister. Was it a good fest?

Do these appear on a fixed schedule, or when you need some comforting, or some other arcane reason? Just curious.

I've been doing them on the first and third Sundays of the month. Weekends are less busy for me, and Sunday is far enough away from Wednesday, on the weeks where ysabetwordsmith and I both make a Comfort Corner/Cuddle Party post.

It also keeps it spread out enough to not bombard people with them (I think) so participation is still good.

(And honestly, two weeks is a short enough time to wait for comfort if I'm having a shit day/week.)

Trausio wanders in, looking a bit bedraggled, and curls up with a pillow. She leans her head into it, and leats ome of hte tears leak out. This whole situation she's in is many layered and is wearing her and hers down so much.

Some of the others some in-Craimar puts a blanket around his Nashala's shoulders; Walter, one of those rarely present lets her lean against him as he sits behind her, his arms around both her and the pillow.
He gives small, shy wave to J, but leaves spot her to snuggle into.

J notices the new arrivals with a sad heart; seeing her friends so worn down hurts. She makes her way over on quiet feet, still taking care not to startle anyone, and places a hand on Trausio's knee.

"Would you like some cuddles?"

Trausio glances up at the soft touch, and nods, "Oh goes, yes please."

J gives a gentle smile, then settles down next to Trausio, close enough to be touching but with enough space for Trausio to decide how she wants to arrange herself.
