Weekly Update
Well, it's been a good week so far. Afternoons has been going well, even if there was some scheduling confusion last night. (Our "planning department" doesn't seem to be so great at, well, planning. Or at communicating that plan.) I made Nutella brownies Monday night, from a recipe in one of
ysabetwordsmith's notes on a LIFC story. If I have some brain later, I link link the recipe here so you all can see it.
I've also been messing about with the leftover caramel sauce to see if I could repurpose it. After some failed attempts, a coworker suggested using an ice cube tray to hold the caramels while I coated them in chocolate. I don't have an ice cube tray, but I do have a mini muffin tin. Unfortunately, I had no mini muffin cups, so I used full-sized ones which were less than ideal. I did manage to get chocolate in the bottom, add the caramel puddles, and coat with more chocolate. I sprinkled them with Himalayan Pink Salt and after sitting in the freezer (and later the fridge) they have solidified and are not toooo difficult to eat. They are also super delicious, even if they are Frankenstein-y and probably the least beautiful treat I've ever made. XD
So far I'm on track with my daily tasks this month, though it is still early and it is still kind of difficult. I'm working my way through it though, and I'm very happy that I haven't just abandoned everything and given up. Hopefully we have dry weather this weekend and I can get out in the garden to do some maintenance.
My sister and I just bought a flower arrangement for our mom for Mother's Day, and there is a farmer's market/flower sale in a nearby town this weekend that we are all planning on going to. Hopefully we can find some good plants and have a nice family day together. :)
I hope you all are doing well and that your weeks have been good. Much love and hugs to everyone!
