Weekly Update (Yay it's Friday!)

I haven't been very productive this week, though I did make double (triple?) chocolate cookies yesterday. I'm going out for a few drinks with coworkers tonight since my birthday is Tuesday so that should be fun. I'm also having a few family members over tomorrow to celebrate, although I'm not sure I have enough time to do everything XD -.-

I took Monday and Tuesday off work, so I'm hoping with the four day weekend I can make some progress on the projects I have going, since this week was a wash.

Duolingo has been going pretty well, though an update to the French course ticked me off. I was so close to having everything at level 3, and indeed, many things above that level, but the update put the whole last section at level 0 again >=( Oh well, at least I might be able to test out to the first level all at once and get my golden owl back. And it didn't reset more than just that section, so that is good at least.

Come on, 3:00! I'm ready for this weekend to start. :D

Thanks! It was really nice that I was able to make my birthday into an extra long weekend. And I could use a few days off, so it works out doubly well.

I heard a couple courses got updates, and that really sucks to have skills reset to zero, I'm sorry ;n; I hope they don't do that with any of the courses I'm currently taking.

There seems to be some changes happening around the site at large - I also heard there's an A/B test happening with Norwegian (as in, nobody can opt into or out of the test, whoever's in the test group is at random) where some people are hearing new TTS voices and some have the old voice. I have the old voice, a TTS program named Liv, and it's going to be really weird if they change the voice. (I actually didn't know until recently the voice on the Norwegian course was a robot, I thought she had a sexy voice *wheeze*)

Yes it does. Thankfully it wasn't the *entire* French course this time. I hope it doesn't happen to any of yours; it can be a right pain in the ass.

So *that's* what's going on! I knew the pronunciation of some things had changed, though I thought I might be imagining it. I am in the group hearing the new French voices, and though the pitch doesn't sound much different to me, some of the word bank words are glitchy. Anything with an apostrophe or accent has the punctuation pronounced. For example, "l'" gets pronounced as "el apostrophe" instead of "le". It is slowly driving me bonkers. I'm glad you like the Norwegian voice, even if she is a robot. :D

(I tried to type this earlier but I clicked out of the window *facepalm* Also, more Duolingo frustration has happened in that time -.-)
