Breaking the Cycle of Insanity

Things are humming along, and then something goes wrong.
Out swarm the managers to hurry things along.
They question and prod, and stand far too close,
ignoring the signs that they'll soon be toast.

Her voice rises and her gestures get wider;
with less room to maneuver, her voice gets snider.
She tries to be polite, says "Excuse me, please,"
while the refrain in her head shouts "Leave, Leave, LEAVE!"

When the problem is fixed, they go away,
but this same scene will be repeated another day.
She doesn't know how they can be so blind
to all of her warning signs.

They think hovering will get more done,
and so they continue as they have begun;
taking up space and being a pain,
walking into danger once again.

While they may choose to remain the same,
she doesn't have to play their game.
She gives as many warnings as she can
but if they come within arm-span,
they better learn how to duck her waving hands.

Yay!

Sounds like the type of managers who hold meetings to find out why things are not more productive. When they get the answer, "because we spend so much time in meetings," they decide to hold another meeting to analyze that response.
