Weekly Update

First bit, since I have now talked to all my local friends, I get to go on a work trip on July 19! We're going to Germany and Italy to assess a new machine and we'll have time for sight-seeing too! I'm so excited, as I've never been to Europe before and all expenses will be covered, plus I get paid to be there because it's a work trip. There are three hourly workers going (an electrician, a mechanic, and a technician (me)), and three "managers" (a maintenance supervisor, the programmer, and someone for risk assessment and ergonomics). None of these people are ones I can't get along with, so I'm not anticipating any interpersonal problems. It should be a really good trip! :D :D :D :D

I went to a local craft thing over the weekend and had fun looking around and also bought myself a new necklace and pair of earrings. I did a lot of sleeping in because I stayed up too late, but I had fun and got some recharge time in so that was nice. I also went paddle boarding with my sister on Sunday, which was my first time really going. We had a good time and I manage to keep my balance and not end up in the water.

I've had a bit more success with getting my daily tasks back on track, which has been nice, but I have a few projects I'm trying to work on that I haven't been so successful in making time for. My head has also been in a rather weird space the last couple days (brain weasels suck), but I think I'm finally coming out of that, which is good; I dislike being melancholy and morose.

I'm planning on visiting family tomorrow before work, and I'm working overtime Saturday night, so I'm going to try to get ALL of my chores done between now and 2:30 on Saturday. If I can clear the whole lot of them, I'm planning to stop by the local bar for a drink after Saturday's shift, even though a group of us are going out Friday. (A drink or two Saturday will be my reward for getting everything done. List unfinished = no drinks Saturday.)

Awesome! I mean the free trip to Europe, although the rest of it's pretty nice too, but that rates as awesome.

One time, back when I was in the National Guard, we got an opportunity to back-fill at Vicenza Italy for 2 weeks. I still can't believe I had trouble getting people to go. "Whine. We already did our 2 weeks Annual Training, wadda I wanna do two more weeks...." "Which part of 'free trip to Italy' are you not getting." (The ones who got it, and took the opportunity, loved it.)
