The far western part of the continent is unaffected by what's afflicting the rest. Here in the San Francisco Bay area, things are mostly sunny right now, with highs in the mid-teens and lows in the 5-10 range. We've had a week and change of dry weather -- concerning at this time of year -- but the normal winter rain pattern looks ready to reassert itself next week.
