Weekly Update
Apr. 22nd, 2021 10:35 amIt's been a pretty good week. I made a cheese chowder that turned out well, and I finished reading my April book, "Spinning Silver" by Naomi Novik. This was a wonderful twist on the fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin and I enjoyed it immensely. It snowed here on Tuesday which was not pleasing, as I planted some things in my garden over the weekend and now I'm concerned about them. Most of them were seeds, so I think I'm ok there, but I did also put my dahlia tuber in the ground and I think I made a mistake there. Ah well, live and learn, and maybe it will still turn out okay anyway.
I've been feeling kind of down the last couple days, and twice in a row had an attack of untimely brain thoughts just before I was trying to sleep. I'm blaming this on hormones since my cycle just started and that always makes me more emotional in the days leading up as well as a few days after it starts. I do think I'm going to have to seriously look into some counseling options though, because I have a thing I haven't processed yet and I don't think I can deal with it on my own.
I'm hoping to get some knitting done this weekend, and maybe some yard time if the weather is nice, and maybe a few other things. We'll see how the week goes, and do what feels right. On the plus side, I think I've got enough stickers now to get myself another reward, so I may end up with a new cardigan soon. :)
I thought of more things!
Thing the first: thanks to some internet-fu from a friend, I now have an inkling of what I like when I think a guy smells good. Cedar, green verbena, and bergamot are the top contenders. It's not quite what I smell on some guys, but it's pretty dang close, and now it gives me a starting point to try other things.
Thing the second: has fled my mind. I will come back and edit it if I remember.
EDIT: So, I don't know if this was my original thing, but my tax refund came in last week and I was able to put in a bunch of money for savings. Combined with this week's money, I now have enough to put another chunk of money on my mortgage as soon as I can get to the bank!
I've also worked three shifts of overtime this week, so next week's paycheck should be really nice, even after taxes.
