Weekly Update
Sep. 8th, 2022 05:57 pmWell, that went by quick. I feel like about a million things have happened since last Thursday. Friday I got a few things done, went out for dinner and two drinks and unexpectedly met up with coworkers which was nice. Then I did drinks with a friend that evening and maybe had one too many. Which led to me laying on the couch until almost 4pm Saturday, and then going to a bonfire that a coworker held. The bonfire was a lot of fun. There was pizza and fireworks and having the chance to see coworkers outside of worker was really nice. Only downside: I got eaten alive by mosquitoes because I turned down bug spray. At least I'm no longer itchy at this point.
Sunday I went to Canada's Wonderland with my sister. We had a lot of fun on the roller coasters and the weather ended up pretty nice; low 70s, no beating sun, and no rain, minus a few patches of mist. The only pitfall was that we didn't spend the night so driving up and back in one day equaled about 8 hours in the car, although we did split the driving at least. Monday we went to see my grandpa because his birthday was Sunday (which we knew) and he turned 80 (which we did not). My sister made a delicious cheese board (which was also beautiful) and a beautiful cake (which was also delicious), both of which my grandpa liked, and he didn't mind us being a day late because he isn't much one for birthdays anyway. I also walked in a Labour Day parade Monday morning since my workplace is unionized, which was fun, good exercise, and also had hotdogs, so that was a win all around. I also got a few things done around the house, in between and after everything, so Monday was a pretty busy day.
Tuesday was crazy hectic because ... I've decided I'm going to get a house with my sister, which means selling mine. So this whole week has been cleaning everything and packing up clutter and non-essentials to try to get ready for taking pictures so the house can be listed. I'm excited and think this will be a good thing, but I'm also apprehensive and overwhelmed, and I have to look for a house and sell one at the same time, which is an added stress. I did get most of the stuff done though, so at the moment I'm just waiting on my dad to help me re-caulk the tub and re-paint the front porch. Other than that, it's just last minute hiding of stuff for pictures, then taking it back out when they're done.
And even with all of this going on, I've still managed to do my languages and yoga every day (at least since Sunday), so I'm happy about that. I have plans to see friends this weekend, so that should help me relax some (hopefully), and once the pictures are done and the house is listed, I should be able to breathe for a little bit too, so that will be nice.
I hope everyone is having a good week and has a better weekend, and if you hear any high-pitched squeals of frustration, that's probably me. Ta for now.
