Weekly Update
May. 25th, 2023 03:24 pmPositive things first. I've kept up my streak of yoga and other daily goals, which makes me happy :) Between my sister and I, we have gotten almost although the flowers planted, except for two dahlias that I'm waiting for slightly warmer weather, and some herbs that I want to let grow a bit before planting outside. The house and the yard are coming together nicely, and I think we will be successful in splitting the chores evenly among the household, so that helps. The yard is also shaping up to not need toooo much routine care, so I'm feeling decent about being able to stay on top of things like watering and weeding.
I also had a good long weekend. Saw multiple groups of friends, had time to relax, and used a bit of time for gardening. Seeing friends was very welcome; I needed a chance to decompress and recharge, and good friends help with that. I also have plans for the upcoming weekend which I'm really looking forward to, and lunch with a good friend tomorrow, which is always enjoyable.
Less positive things now. There were some things I wasn't able to accomplish this week, such as website entries, rollerblading, and reading. I need to find a way to make these things happen, but they keep slipping through my grasp. Ah well. Tomorrow is another day and there is another after that, so I shall keep going and simply try to do better next time.
The other major not-good thing is work related. The union meeting last week really threw me for a loop, and it wasn't until today when I could really figure out why I was so affected. In essence, my world view got shaken and I had to re-evaluate a lot of things, and I was left feeling without a purpose. I've taken steps now to work on correcting that, and finding ways to feel fulfilled and like what I do is meaningful, but it really knocked me for a loop. Hopefully I've got it sorted enough now for getting on with things, but this has been a rather uncomfortable week, emotionally and mentally.
I hope you all are doing well, and may you have the strength and skills to deal with whatever obstacles come your way.
Hugs and love,
J
