October and November Monthly Goal Review

Once again, I am very late with my goal review, but here is a report for how October and November went. Thankfully, I managed to squeak this in before it is time to December's review. *laugh* For a detailed look at how I'm doing, take a look beneath the cut.
--Meet Daily goal on Duolingo (30XP/day)
---I missed one day in the last two months, though I believe it was the day after my Union Christmas party, so I don't feel too bad about it.
--On Duolingo, practise French and Polish twice a week, and Esperanto, Hawaiian, and German once a week.
---I think I managed to stick with this one, though there may have been one day that I practiced a language other than the one I intended.
--I'd like to complete 5 Legendary units in both Esperanto and Hawaiian, 20 Regular units in French, 10 Regular units in Polish, and 2 Regular units in German.
---Esperanto, German, Hawaiian, and Polish are finished, with some extra progress made! I still don't have an accurate way to measure my French progress, but I am almost finished Unit 20 of Section 7, which will complete Section 7. If I can finish that by the end of the year, I will consider the French goal met.
--Yoga every day except Monday. I'm also going to try to find "cardio" or "strength" yoga videos to help with getting in shape too. I'd like to try to do a "30 day yoga" challenge this year, and not miss any days, which is what happened last year.
---I haven't done a good job of tracking things in the last two months, so I'm not sure how many days of yoga I missed. I feel like it was at least one a week most times, which is more than I want to miss, but I haven't given up on it so I'm happy with that.
--Weekly update posts on Thursdays, and Comfort Corner posts on the first, third, and fifth Sundays.
---One late Thursday in October and no missed Sunday posts. Two missed Thursday posts and two late ones in September and no missed Sunday posts.
--Try to answer DW comments within two days of receiving them. Answer five comments on the weekend to keep the backlog down.
---I've haven't been doing well with this one, although I am still doing okay at responding as comments come in (sometimes). I'd like to work on shrinking my backlog of comments in December, so that I can start the new year with a clean slate.
--Cook on Mondays. This year, I'm going to try to find at least a dozen recipes or so by January 15 that I want to cook, to cut down on some of the decision making so that cooking will be easier.
---I've been slacking on this one, though I have been managing to avoid eating out too often, which is a plus at least.
--Don't let the dishes stack up in the sink, and don't leave the pots and pans to sit for days (or for someone else to do). I had to modify this one from last year, since the old goal won't work with two other people living in the house.
---Doing alright with this one, some times better, other times worse.
--$X into savings account weekly.
---Success both months!
--Clear my half of the mortgage by the end of the year.
---Just the weekly payments for December left!
--Water garden daily from May through the first week of September.
---This goal is now done for the year.
----Weed the garden once weekly (tentatively on Sundays) from May through the first week of September.
-----This goal is now done for the year. I did do a bit of weeding when I raked all the leaves that fell off the trees, but I have a feeling I will have a lot of weeding to do come spring time.
--Rollerblade or bike once a month from April to September.
---This one has been a complete failure. No rollerblading or biking in either August or September, although I did have that week of hiking at the end of August.
--Donate to charity monthly; have the list of charities finalized by January 15th.
---Success in October and November. List created before January 15th.
--Read one book a month.
---I did not finish a book in October, but I did finish a book in November. I'm going to pause on the series for a moment and read something else, but I do intend on finishing the entire "The Secrets of the Immortal Nicolas Flammel" series.
--Play flute once a month.
---Success in both months, once with my sister as an audience/song picker.
--Take one personal day a month to just chill and recharge my batteries.
---I sort of did this, but not with much intention. I have been doing decently at setting aside some of my weekend for myself though, so I don't feel too overwhelmed or burnout.
--One puzzle before July.
---I finally finished the puzzle I started back in January, with some significant help from my sister. It is very pretty and we glued it together. I'm going to see if I can find a frame for it and hang it on the wall :)
--One puzzle after July.
---I did an Ontario Parks crest puzzle with my sister which we finished in one day, and I started a flower puzzle at the end of September, so this goal is a success.
--Participate in at least three bingo fests. Tentatively, the February, May, and October Bingo fests look the most interesting, with March and July being ones I'm curious about but I'm waiting to see cards for those ones. I will be hosting the June bingo fest, so I will try to write for that one as well, though I haven't had the best track record for actually writing in my own fests.
---I did not participate in any bingo fests in October or November. I really should check on where I'm at for this goal, and maybe make use of the fact that December is Amnesty Bingo Month.
--Get one bingo; bonus for a blackout.
---Finished in February.
--Finish the socks I started. If that goes quickly, I'm going to try to make a second pair, since I have a second ball of yarn specifically for socks.
---Still no progress on the socks.
--Choose a knitting or crochet project to do to use up some of the yarn I have (I have waaaaayyyyy too much LOL).
---I have made more progress on my scarf and I am nearing completion on the blanket for my niece.
--Have the blocks for my quilt put together.
---No progress on the quilt yet.
--Do something creative/artistic. I have no idea what, and I'm not sure if the vagueness will be a help or a hindrance, but this is all I've got so far.
---Still nothing, unless you count my crochet projects from earlier in the year.
--Potentially take a class, either in person or online. I'm not sure about this one this time around, but I like the idea enough to not remove it completely. We'll see how the year goes, I guess.
---No class taken yet, and I have a feeling I might miss this goal this year.
--Keep seeing therapist to work on personal things. I'd also like to set a specific goal to work towards, though I don't actually have one in mind at the moment.
---I have not yet found a new therapist, though I believe I have decided I want to find one that can help me achieve specific goals and shore up skills I'm lacking, rather than just plain "talk therapy."
--Choose of slice of the "Wheel of Life" to work on. Have a rough plan by January 15. I have chosen Stress-Mastery and Play to work on (yes that is two slices), but I haven't come up with a plan yet.
---Uhhh.... This goal kind of fell by the wayside. I may need to re-think it for next year.
--Website updates for [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith. I honestly don't know how to frame this goal to be successful at it. I've tried a lot of variations, and they all have their drawbacks and don't work long term. I'm going to keep trying but I'm directionless at the moment.
---... I have to find my charging cord for my laptop, and I need to make time and energy to work on this. Still trying to make something happen here.
--Fill in desk calendar by January 15.
---Done! I also made bullet journal tracker pages, so that it is easier to count how many days I completed (or missed) as the year goes on.
--Post an end-of-month goal review on DW. I'm hoping this will help me track the progress of my on-going goals, but we'll see how that goes.
---I have brought my total of missed and late months to 3 apiece. I have also almost entirely stopped formally tracking my daily goals, which is not great. I need to see if I can find a way to make tracking things easier next year, so that I skip on it less. I do like being able to quantify my progress, I just have a hard time remembering to mark it down.
--Two personal "goals" that I'm not sure need to be on this list any more but are still on the calendar, so I shall track them anyway, just to see how I do with keeping them up.
---I'm not sure of my progress here exactly, but I know I was late a few times. All in all, these two habits seem to be fairly ingrained now, so they won't be on my official goal list next year.
October and November had some ups and downs, but I kept coming back to my goals instead of abandoning anything, which tends to be my modus operandi. December seems to be off to a good start, and I'm hoping I can carry that momentum into setting goals for 2024 and getting January off to a good start.
