I have chosen to mash my December view and my 2023 review together, so if this gets hard to follow or extremely long, I apologize. December felt like it went well to me, though I was very busy most of the month, what with Chirstmas and all. Details will be under the cut, if anyone wants to see how I did this year. :)

--Meet Daily goal on Duolingo (30XP/day)
---I didn't miss any days in December! For the whole year, I believe I only missed 2 or 3 days enitrely, and 1 day where I met half the goal. A resounding success here!

--On Duolingo, practise French and Polish twice a week, and Esperanto, Hawaiian, and German once a week.
---I stuck with the outlined schedule in December, and I believe I only practised "the wrong" language 3 or 4 times the whole year. This one wasn't necessarily set in stone, I was just aiming for the best way to make progress in all of my multiple languages. I'm not sure this is the winning format, but it faired decently this year.

--I'd like to complete 5 Legendary units in both Esperanto and Hawaiian, 20 Regular units in French, 10 Regular units in Polish, and 2 Regular units in German.
---I completed Section 7 of the French course! All of these goals have been completed now, which makes me very happy, even of I still have a ways to go to finish some of the courses.

--Yoga every day except Monday. I'm also going to try to find "cardio" or "strength" yoga videos to help with getting in shape too. I'd like to try to do a "30 day yoga" challenge this year, and not miss any days, which is what happened last year.
---I did okay with yoga in December, though I probably missed an average of two days a week. As a rough count, I probably missed about 60 yoga days this year, which is not great but could be a lot worse. I did complete a "30 Days of yoga" challenge, so I succeeded on that front at least.

--Weekly update posts on Thursdays, and Comfort Corner posts on the first, third, and fifth Sundays.
---In December, I missed zero comfort corners and one weekly post. For the year, I missed one comfort corner and was late on one by 11 minutes. I had 4 late weekly posts, and a total of 9 missed weekly posts, mostly in the latter half of the year. This isn't great but I'll see if I can do better next year.

--Try to answer DW comments within two days of receiving them. Answer five comments on the weekend to keep the backlog down.
---I didn't answer any backlogs this month (I don't think) but I did okay responding to comments as they came in. Overall, I seem to have done okay for the first quarter of the year, then I really tapered off. I'm hoping to better next year, and to also try to interact more instead of just lurking silently.

--Cook on Mondays. This year, I'm going to try to find at least a dozen recipes or so by January 15 that I want to cook, to cut down on some of the decision making so that cooking will be easier.
---December was very hit and miss for cooking. The whole year was rather hit and miss, to be honest. I want to find a way to make this one successful next year, but it might require some thought.

--Don't let the dishes stack up in the sink, and don't leave the pots and pans to sit for days (or for someone else to do). I had to modify this one from last year, since the old goal won't work with two other people living in the house.
---I did okay here this month, especially managing to wash the dishes that cropped up from holiday baking.

--$X into savings account weekly.
---Success! For the year, I believe I had about 3 missed weeks and 3 under target weeks, all in the time frame where multiple major bills came very close together.

--Clear my half of the mortgage by the end of the year.
---Done!!!

--Water garden daily from May through the first week of September.
---This goal is now done for the year. I did alright with this, though better at the beginning of the season than at the end.

----Weed the garden once weekly (tentatively on Sundays) from May through the first week of September.
-----This goal is now done for the year. The weeding came in spurts; sometimes multiple times a week, sometimes not at all. I will try to be more consistent in 2024 in an attempt to stay on top of the weeds better.

--Rollerblade or bike once a month from April to September.
---This one has been a complete failure. No rollerblading or biking in either August or September, although I did have that week of hiking at the end of August.

--Donate to charity monthly; have the list of charities finalized by January 15th.
---Success! List created before January 15th.

--Read one book a month.
---I finished a book in December. I didn't succeed in reading one book a month but I think I read about 10 books, so that's not too horrible. I'm hoping I can do better next year, as I do have a very big backlog to get through.

--Play flute once a month.
---Success in December! I think I missed one month this year, but that's not awful. Next year, I might try to play more than once a month, because I could use the practise, and there are songs I want to play more.

--Take one personal day a month to just chill and recharge my batteries.
---I don't think I did this in December; it was kind of a hectic month. I'd say I did take a day for myself most months, though probably only about half of them planned on purpose.

--One puzzle before July.
---This was not completed on time, but the puzzle did get done, and it is now framed, I just need to hang it up.

--One puzzle after July.
---I did an Ontario Parks crest puzzle with my sister which we finished in one day, and I started a flower puzzle at the end of September, so this goal is a success.

--Participate in at least three bingo fests. Tentatively, the February, May, and October Bingo fests look the most interesting, with March and July being ones I'm curious about but I'm waiting to see cards for those ones. I will be hosting the June bingo fest, so I will try to write for that one as well, though I haven't had the best track record for actually writing in my own fests.
---No bingo activity in December. I believe I managed two bingo fests this year, but I think I fell short of the three I had hoped to do. I seem to have lost time and creativity for writing this year, though perhaps that will change in 2024.

--Get one bingo; bonus for a blackout.
---Finished in February.

--Finish the socks I started. If that goes quickly, I'm going to try to make a second pair, since I have a second ball of yarn specifically for socks.
---No progress on the socks. This goal did not work at all. I'm hoping to *actually* work on these socks in the new year.

--Choose a knitting or crochet project to do to use up some of the yarn I have (I have waaaaayyyyy too much LOL).
---I finished the snowflake blanket for my niece! It turned out really nicely and I'm happy with the project. I made four projects this year, with a fifth one on-going, so this was a success.

--Have the blocks for my quilt put together.
---No progress on the quilt this year. I shall try again next year.

--Do something creative/artistic. I have no idea what, and I'm not sure if the vagueness will be a help or a hindrance, but this is all I've got so far.
---Still nothing, unless you count my crochet projects from earlier in the year. This one didn't work as I had hoped. Ah well, sometimes that happens.

--Potentially take a class, either in person or online. I'm not sure about this one this time around, but I like the idea enough to not remove it completely. We'll see how the year goes, I guess.
---No class taken this year. I didn't happen across anything appealing, and I didn't have time to search for something I wanted to do.

--Keep seeing therapist to work on personal things. I'd also like to set a specific goal to work towards, though I don't actually have one in mind at the moment.
---I have not yet found a new therapist, though I believe I have decided I want to find one that can help me achieve specific goals and shore up skills I'm lacking, rather than just plain "talk therapy." This goal was good for most of the year, until circumstances changed.

--Choose of slice of the "Wheel of Life" to work on. Have a rough plan by January 15. I have chosen Stress-Mastery and Play to work on (yes that is two slices), but I haven't come up with a plan yet.
---Nothing for December on the stress mastery front, though I did do a lot of fun things in December. All in all, this goal wasn't one I stayed on top of, so I may need to rethink the format for next year.

--Website updates for [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith. I honestly don't know how to frame this goal to be successful at it. I've tried a lot of variations, and they all have their drawbacks and don't work long term. I'm going to keep trying but I'm directionless at the moment.
---Nothing in December. I need to seriously consider whether I can commit to this in 2024, or if I I have too many things on my plate and need to step back from this.

--Fill in desk calendar by January 15.
---Done! I also made bullet journal tracker pages, so that it is easier to count how many days I completed (or missed) as the year goes on.

--Post an end-of-month goal review on DW. I'm hoping this will help me track the progress of my on-going goals, but we'll see how that goes.
---I would have liked to post this in 2023, but New Year's is always busy, so it's going up now that I actually have time. My success rate on this goal was only 50%, which is not great at all. Hopefully a change in the calendar I use for marking things will help make these posts easier to compile in 2024.

--Two personal "goals" that I'm not sure need to be on this list any more but are still on the calendar, so I shall track them anyway, just to see how I do with keeping them up.
---I don't think I missed any days in December, which makes me happy. This one no longer needs to be on the goals list, but I will keep the habits up (hopefully).

December was a decent month, even with all the holiday craziness. The year went decently overall, though I do need to work on consistency and follow-through next year. Let's get 2024 off to a great start!

I'm sure I've said it before, but I'm always impressed at how extensive your goals list is, and how much you accomplish. I hope you have improved success in 2024 [and maybe even a new pair of socks by the end of it! 😁]
