Well, I got told by my family that they tasted good, so it seems to be a worthy recipe. Two points of note though. Point the first, my aunt who cited them as a favourite suggested using the candied cherries (from the Bulk Barn here) as opposed to regular maraschino cherries. She mentioned them being a little firmer and easier to work with.
Point the second, it was a very crumbly dough and I recommend forming it into a ball before refridgerating. I feel like that would make it easier to form logs as opposed to leaving it crumbly then shaping after refrigeration (which is what I did.)
Overall, these cookies get a pass and a will make again, though only for someone who likes cherries, since I don't like them very much and wouldn't find it worth it for myself.
