Since I'm new to Snowflake this year, I'm going to borrow a few people's ideas for inspiration. The first one I'm borrowing is from ysabetwordsmith, to offer multiple challenges (in this case, some fannish and some not), so that people have a variety to choose from. Also because I have multiple ideas *laugh*

Fannish
Read a new fandom
My first challenge is to read a fic from a fandom you've never read before. New things can be exciting, and I've found great content this way.

Leave a comment on a fic
This one seems to be pretty popular, but I figured I'd say it here too, because I know how much comments can mean to authors and creators. So if you see a fanwork you really like, step out of the shadows and let the creator know!
*Bonus points if you leave the comment on the work from a new fandom.

From an idea from shipperslist about imagining your characters as art/desserts:

Not Fannish

Try a new recipe
On the non-fandom side, try baking or cooking something new. I tend more towards baking myself, but I know many people like to cook. So, branch out, try something new, maybe a new cuisine or a new technique or just a recipe you've been wanting to try for a while but never got around to. If you generally bake instead of cook or vice versa, this is also a good opportunity to try something new, although perhaps start simple if baking (or cooking) is your enemy.

I hope you'll give one of these a try and perhaps even find something you like. :D I shall be leaving a comment myself as soon as I do them.

I chuckled at this! If we're not enemies, we are at least nemeses. *g*

As for the animal one, thinking about it gave me an idea for a fic that I might never write, lol. I went from thinking about how I turned some characters into different breeds of puppies in one story, to how Stiles is often portrayed as a fox in fic, and also a kitten . . . and while I was thinking about him wanting cuddles, I thought what if this other character was turned into a kitten?!! o_O So, maybe that'll happen . . . someday.

I can relate to that, on the cooking side. I'm glad it got a chuckle :)

I'm glad I could spark fic ideas, even if they never get written :D

fancake is a great place to find new fandoms, especially if there are certain tropes you adore and can't get enough of! I've never been able to read fic for fandoms I don't have at least some knowledge of, but I have added some new-to-me series to my watchlist that I had hesitated on previously (usually for dumb reasons like "I already have two favorite characters, I don't need any more!").

Comments are love! I have been hitting up the posted entries for the Valentine's event on Twitter (Voltron) and will keep going this week as there are many with more to come. :D

Ooo, thanks for the community rec! And I totally understand about not being able to read fandoms you don't have at least some knowledge of. Although for my challenge, it doesn't have to be completely new to you; for myself, I'm going to use Murdoch Mysteries, which is a series I have some familiarity with, but have never read any fanfic for.
