Signal Boost and Weekly Update
May. 20th, 2021 07:08 pmFirstly, the half-price sale for Daughters of the Apocalypse is still going, and upon looking at the offerings, I actually would be willing to run a pool if people are interested. We cpuld either go after "Rainshdaow Road" and it's sequel, or all of the smaller non-sequential poems. Personally, I like the shorter poems route, but I'd be willing to tackle "Rainshadow Road" if there was enough interest and funds. The bonus for going after the shorter poems is that I can almost afford all of them myself, so if you just wanted to chip in 10 or 20 bucks it would still help out and you'd be able to get poetry.
Weekly things, I dis all the daily things again this week, so my streak for May is still alive! I bought myself a purple shirt as a reward, but I may go back and try to find a floral one still since I'd like one of those too. I never bought my April reward, so I think I'm going to track down a copy of "The Subtle Art of Verbal Self-Defense" and myself that as well. I actually did some work on the blanket I'm knitting this week, but I still have a loooooong way to go, and it might get put on hold when I start my temperature blanket project next month.
I went for a walk today in a nature park. It was beautiful weather and I could hear tons of birds. I went in red flower dress, with my red bracelet, pink turtle earrings, and green sneakers, because I felt like it and it was fun :) I'm pretty sure this counts as my fun thing for this month, but I may still look up "whimsical" things to do and do one of those before May is over.

ysabetwordsmith posted with notes, I want to take a look at seeing if I can find ways to avoid ultra-processed food. Most of my diet is fruits and vegetables and meat like chicken and porkchops, but I also eat protein bars at work everyday and I'm sure those aren't great for me. My other big weakness is store bought cookies (because they are easy) and chocolate, though thankfully I've never been hooked on pop and things like chips and ice cream are rare treats for me (chips are rarer than ice cream). I can probably cut out (or down) on the junk food the easiest, but replacing the protein bars is going to take some work, because ideally I'd like something that has similar caloric and nutrional value, though less sugar would be fine.
Another thing I did this week was make a therapy appointment. I've been toying with the idea for awhile and I finally did it. The appointment is a week and a half from now, and the counsellor seemed nice when I spoke with her on the phone. We'll see how it goes, but I've had enough emotional troubles lately that I decided to stop putting it off. Fingers crossed it goes well and she actually ends up being helpful.
I hope you all had a fantastic week and you have a great weekend :D Best wishes and thoughts to all of you.
Oh, p.s. I got the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on Sunday, and thankfully I only felt a bit tired after, no bad side effects.
