Weekly Update
Jun. 10th, 2021 10:49 amThis week has gone pretty well. Some stupidity (kind of a lot, of the planning variety) at work, but other than that, not bad. I got back on track with my daily tasks, though I will probably won't buy any rewards this month, since I splurged on some make up and some nice makeup brushes at Shopper's Drug Mart that I plan on using for skin brushing/sensory tools. I do still really want to buy a floral shirt, and I need a pair of black shorts, so I may get either one of those if I can find something at a decent price.
My sister has a pass for free summer parking at all provincial parks and she wants to go see some that are further away. This Saturday we're going to go to two places that are clpse together but about 3 hours from us. They both have waterfalls and look really pretty, so I'm hoping it will be a good time.
This week I decided to try to replace store bought protein bars with something less processed. I made No Bake Energy Bites and they turned out decently. I think I might buy all-natural peanut butter, or another all natural nut or seed butter, to cut back further on the processed stuff. I also might look into seeing if I can use an egg or two instead of the honey to hold everything together, and then bake them. The honey is tasty, but it's a LOT of sugar. I also want a way to add more protein to them that doesn't involve adding protein powder. Some tweaking may be needed before I find something filling and healthy.
I'm making steady progress on my temperature blanket, and have all the squares crocheted so far, though I'm still waiting to put the border on today's square, just in case we get some rain. I'm working on sewing the first row together but I'm not finished yet. I have six squares connected, and when I finish adding the last three, I'll post a picture of it for everyone to see. I'm really happy with how things are going so far, and I'm curious to see how the whole thing comes together.
We are approaching the half-way point of the year, so at the end of June I'm going to do an in-depth post about my new year's goals (NYGs). I'll look at what's going well and what's not, and any changes that I've made. I also need to look into finding a class to take, possibly online since I don't know if I have access to in-person learning yet. I'm not sure what kond of class to take, so if anyone has something they are passionate about that they want to suggest, I'll certainly consider looking into it. I'll probably make a post in late June about any research I'm managed to do on this subject as well, either before or after my NYGs post.
