It's time for the February Goal Review! This month was more hectic and spoon-draining than I had hoped or anticipated, so a lot of it felt like a challenge, but I still managed to do pretty well on my goals, I think. For a detailed look at how I'm doing, take a look beneath the cut.

--Meet Daily goal on Duolingo (30XP/day)
---No days missed, but I did have one day where I only got half the required XP. Not ideal, but I'll take it.

--On Duolingo, practise French and Polish twice a week, and Esperanto, Hawaiian, and German once a week.
---Even with the half day, and all the craziness, I have practised the language I planned on each day so far, so this goal is working. :)

--I'd like to complete 5 Legendary units in both Esperanto and Hawaiian, 20 Regular units in French, 10 Regular units in Polish, and 2 Regular units in German.
---This goal is in progress and will take longer to hit any of the targets I've set. I am making decent progress so far though, and I think I should be able to hit 4 out of 5 of these by the end of the year, if I can't manage to get them all. I am on Unit 7 of 9 for Esperanto, 5 of 8 for Hawaiian, 160 of 179 for French, 20 of 28 for Polish, and 20 of 20 for German, though I am only starting unit 20, it's not complete yet.

--Yoga every day except Monday. I'm also going to try to find "cardio" or "strength" yoga videos to help with getting in shape too. I'd like to try to do a "30 day yoga" challenge this year, and not miss any days, which is what happened last year.
---I missed one day of yoga, and didn't do the monthky challenge, but I'm still feeling good about this goal.

--Weekly update posts on Thursdays, and Comfort Corner posts on the first, third, and fifth Sundays.
---Success!

--Try to answer DW comments within two days of receiving them. Answer five comments on the weekend to keep the backlog down.
---I've been doing okay answering comments in a timely fashion, but some have sat for a while. I have met the weekend portion of this goal though, so I'm pleased with that.

--Cook on Mondays. This year, I'm going to try to find at least a dozen recipes or so by January 15 that I want to cook, to cut down on some of the decision making so that cooking will be easier.
---I was a day late one week, but I'm really not too fussy about that, since Tuesday is still plenty early in the week, and I did in fact cook, instead of skipping out on it entirely.

--Don't let the dishes stack up in the sink, and don't leave the pots and pans to sit for days (or for someone else to do). I had to modify this one from last year, since the old goal won't work with two other people living in the house.
---I've done the dishes after every time I've cooked, but I haven't been so good at doing everyday type dishes. I have a feeling this goal may need to be revised in the future.

--$X into savings account weekly.
---Success so far!

--Clear my half of the mortgage by the end of the year.
---Well, I have made 3 lump sum payments so far, so this one is looking to be on track and doable. Still only 3 lump sum payments, since I miscalculated last monrh (it was only 2).

--Water garden daily from May through the first week of September.
---Not the right season for this yet.

----Weed the garden once weekly (tentatively on Sundays) from May through the first week of September.
-----Also not the right season for this yet.

--Rollerblade or bike once a month from April to September.
---Or this.

--Donate to charity monthly; have the list of charities finalized by January 15th.
---Done so far. List created before January 15th.

--Read one book a month.
---Read "Qui a Peur des Fantômes?". This is a French novel, probably geared toward the pre-teen crowd because all three protagonists are 12 years old. I had intended to read a different book but the month got away from me, and I've been meaning to read this one for quite a while now. I understood a surprising amount of it, and may go back and do an excerise I remember from grade 6; find 5-10 words in each chapter that you don't recognize and look them up in the dictionary. It was a detective novel and a pretty good story, so I'm happy I actually got around to reading it.

--Play flute once a month.
---Done so far, although only just beat the deadline this month.

--Take one personal day a month to just chill and recharge my batteries.
---Success again this month, and I used the day to make a lpt of progress on one of my bingo cards.

--One puzzle before July.
---I worked on the puzzle a little bit, but haven't made much progress.

--One puzzle after July.
---Another one that doesn't apply yet.

--Participate in at least three bingo fests. Tentatively, the February, May, and October Bingo fests look the most interesting, with March and July being ones I'm curious about but I'm waiting to see cards for those ones. I will be hosting the June bingo fest, so I will try to write for that one as well, though I haven't had the best track record for actually writing in my own fests.
---I chose cards for the Valentine's fest, and played the Public Solo card. I was hoping to also write some fills for my other cards, but it didn't work out that way, unfortunately.

--Get one bingo; bonus for a blackout.
---Yay! I got a blackout bingo on the Public Solo card for the Valentine's fest.

--Finish the socks I started. If that goes quickly, I'm going to try to make a second pair, since I have a second ball of yarn specifically for socks.
---I got some more work done on the socks, but I'm still not even at the heel of the first sock, when I had hoped to be done the whole first sock by now. Oh well, any progress is a good thing, I suppose.

--Choose a knitting or crochet project to do to use up some of the yarn I have (I have waaaaayyyyy too much LOL).
---I made a baby blanket! And I have started on a scarf, so this one succeeded. I haven't made much progress on the scarf yet, but it's on my list. I've also got a whole book of knitting patterns, and lots of links for afghans and blankets, so I may find myself with several projects on the go soon.

--Have the blocks for my quilt put together.
---Still no progress, but family circumstances came into play a bit here, so that was at least part of it.

--Do something creative/artistic. I have no idea what, and I'm not sure if the vagueness will be a help or a hindrance, but this is all I've got so far.
---Not done yet and no ideas so far. Still.

--Potentially take a class, either in person or online. I'm not sure about this one this time around, but I like the idea enough to not remove it completely. We'll see how the year goes, I guess.
---Not done yet, and nothing planned at the moment. Again.

--Keep seeing therapist to work on personal things. I'd also like to set a specific goal to work towards, though I don't actually have one in mind at the moment.
---Still seeing my therapist, no additional goals set yet.

--Choose of slice of the "Wheel of Life" to work on. Have a rough plan by January 15. I have chosen Stress-Mastery and Play to work on (yes that is two slices), but I haven't come up with a plan yet.
---Completed the February goals for this, and found out that nature sounds don't necessarily work as a coping mechanism for me. I keep wanting to put on Celtic music or other flowy and/or meditate-y things, so that is what I will try in the future. Yay for learning things about yourself!

--Website updates for [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith. I honestly don't know how to frame this goal to be successful at it. I've tried a lot of variations, and they all have their drawbacks and don't work long term. I'm going to keep trying but I'm directionless at the moment.
---I haven't managed to start this one yet, but I do have a general direction to start in at least. Did not find spoons for this. Will put in more effort into doing *something* in March.

--Fill in desk calendar by January 15.
---Done! I also made bullet journal tracker pages, so that it is easier to count how many days I completed (or missed) as the year goes on.

--Post an end-of-month goal review on DW. I'm hoping this will help me track the progress of my on-going goals, but we'll see how that goes.
---Review posted on the last day of the month this time, so I'm currently two for two.

--Two personal "goals" that I'm not sure need to be on this list any more but are still on the calendar, so I shall track them anyway, just to see how I do with keeping them up.
---Did not miss any of these days yet, yay!
