Weekly Update

fuzzyredThis week has been busy and productive. I've been chipping away at the weeds and other household tasks in preparation for Sunday, and I've managed to stay mostly on top of my daily tasks. I missed a few days of yoga, but I stopped the slide before it got more than three days or so. I haven't really done anything for stress mastery this month, but I did do a few fun things this past weekend, so that was very nice.
On Friday, I went axe throwing with one of my good friends and had a blast. It was a lot more fun than I was expecting, and not as difficult either. On Sunday, I went to a local historic village site for their lost arts fair and spent a lovely few hours watching the blacksmith there work. He made a few S-hooks, and something I thought he called a weaver's lock hook, but searching that term in google didn't show me what I wanted, so I may have heard wrong. It's always fascinating to me to watch people create things, especially when it's not somethkng I can do myself.
I don't have much of a plan for the week ahead, just getting things ready for the weekend really, and then enjoying the family time. Next week is my last week of work before our summer shutdown and my week long camping trip, so I imagine I'll be busy getting ready for that too. I'm definitely ready for a vacation :D

But I had forgotten just how often and how badly forging goes wrong, until I watched it. I've seen more of metalwork at its middle stages, when people are pretty good at getting decent work. I've seen it evolve, and then it's fucking nightmare to get anything usable -- just not as much, so it's less in the front of my mind.
