I find having a space to share my progress helps a lot. For one, it works as a record for me, so I can see what I've done and what I still need to do. For another, getting feedback and encouragement from others helps, so I'm more likely to get things done.
It also gives me a chance to talk about the things I like to do, which is always nice. :)
