Weekly Update

In general, this week has been good and I had a great weekend, but this week hasn't been so good on goals. I went to a friend's birthday party on Saturday, which was a lot of fun, and I ended up choosing well for my gift. On Sunday, my boyfriend and I went up to a nearby(ish) town for a fiber fair and to see a waterfall. It was the first time I'd been to a fiber fair and it was a whole lot of fun! It was all independent vendors who had amazing things. Lots of colourful hand dyed yarn in beautiful patterns, most of it amazingly soft; a bunch of stuffed that looked like roving or material for felting (I'm not actually sure what it was); some spinning wheels and spindles and such; and some lovely stitch markers, place keepers, and other things for making projects, including some patterns. I largely kept to my budget and went home with all kinds of fantastic yarn, though I wanted to buy so much more. *laugh* I have plans for some of it already, so hopefully I can work with it soon.

Yoga and the gym took the biggest hit this week. I missed two days of yoga and I haven't been to the gym yet. I also didn't work on my socks, but I'm a bit ahead of schedule there, so I'm not too upset about it. I also finished three books this month and read a 70,000 word fanfic, so I'm happy about that. I'm hoping to get a lot done in the coming week though, since this weekend is Easter and we have a shutdown at work next week. I don't have a lot of plans yet, so everything willing, I'll be able to both rest and get a lot of stuff done.

I get to curl tomorrow, with my good friend, so I'm very much looking forward to that. :)

... I feel like there should be more to say, but my brain is scattered so I think I'll end it here. I hope everyone has a good Easter/spring holiday if you celebrate (apologies for not knowing the specific holidays), and have a wonderful, restful weekend. :) <3

The fiber fair sounds awesome. :D I'm remembering that time Shiv went to one and I spent four days following him in a poem.

It was a lot of fun! There were so many colourful hand dyed yarns, some very cool things that I think were roving yarn hanks, and the blends all seemed so soft. Most of what I bought was a merino wool blend I believe, some mixed with yak, some mixed with silk.

The fiber fair definitely seemed smaller than the one in your poem, but I can see why it would be so appealing to Shiv and Luci, and how a big fair could take a long time to go through. I just wish I had a bigger budget *laugh* and more time to work with the yarn I bought.
