That is a fact I didn't know about lilacs. I have lots of new growth on the trees this year, in addition to the existing branches, so I'm hopeful that the trimming was done right.
It is also good to know that one less fruitful year doesn't mean I wrecked things horribly, so thank you for that confidence boost. :)
