Comfort Corner

The carpet is thick, soft and cream coloured, while the walls are a yellow bronze colour. In the corner along one wall there is a large sofa, able to seat 4 or 5 people comfortably. Along the other corner wall there is a smaller sofa for 2 or 3 people. In the middle of the furniture, there is a low, round coffee table, perfect for colouring at or for other craft activities.

There is a scratching post and a cat tree for climbing, which are both along the wall opposite the couch. A few fluffy beds have also been put out, in varying sizes, in case any one prefers the floor. There is also a large sturdy perch and a marked off area that says "Landing Pad" in case any winged friends want to visit.

There is now a blue chaise chair in the nook as well, which has been placed near the couch and is good for both sitting and spreading out lengthwise. There are also two armchairs; one an oversized, deep gray leather chair, the other a square fabric armchair in deep blue with light purple swirls on it (Think this style except not grey).

There are two baskets off to the side. One contains fuzzy blankets, a variety of fuzzy and textured pillows, and a collection of stuffed animals while the other contains a variety of art supplies, ranging from colouring pages and blank paper to crayons and coloured pencils, and more besides.

For the winter season, there is a fireplace for warmth, extra blankets, pillows, and slippers, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate with all the fixings you could want (including Bailey's and Kaluha if you wish to make things alcoholic).

Happy New Year all! May this one be better than the last. There is a pot of ham soup, a pot of vegetable soup, a bowl of meatballs, a plate of spaghetti, some sugar cookies, and various alcoholic beverages.

The Bear shambles in with two pies - one short crust and apple, the other yeast crust and mozzarella and marinara.

I finally nailed homemade pizza! Crank it ALL THE WAY UP, and let the pizza stone soak in the vulcan warmth for half an hour or so. You should hear a bit of a sizzle when you finally slide the pie down onto it.

Makes a Fuzzy Navel, and brings that and cookies and pie and sits next to Fuzzy for snuggles.

We're all right. Kinda quiet except for the snow fun and games (which is slowly being rained out as we speak)... this city is NOT EQUIPPED for snow, so when it does get it (and it does, on the regular, just .... the city refuses to keep adequate equipment for more than the big streets *sigh*) it's always a pain in the tuchus... This too shall pass.

And I have now cooked six straight days, and I'm NOT COOKING TONIGHT, not for the whole crew anyway.

Oh boy. It bites that the city is ill-prepared for large amounts of snow, especially if it happens frequently.

Ho boy, that's a lot of cooking. I can definitely understand taking a day off after that.

I'm glad someone brought something alcoholic. I'll spring for Champagne (easy to be financially generous virtually). And definitely up for some cuddles.

Dutch is one of my golden owls! I chose this username back in 2016 because I needed something for Archive of Our Own and I couldn't think of anything so I went with "stories" in Dutch [I'm of partial Dutch ancestry on my father's side]. I occasionally get a Dutch speaker noticing the username and asking about it.

Oh, that's cool! My dad was born in the States but his parents were immigrants. I'm more culturally [US] Southerner than I am Dutch tbh but I've done some digging at my DNA and my family tree out of curiosity.
