Bingo Fill: Late Bloomer

This is a shadorma and it fills the "late bloomer" square on my Mixed Card for the Valentine's Bingo Fest.

Changing Tastes
-a shadorma

Early years
so much confusion.
Girls or boys?
I want none.
Slowly awareness arrives;
I want to try now.

*Side note: this poem is not autobiographical, though my own experiences *are* a bit off standard. I tried to handle this respectfully, but if I goofed, let me know and I'll work on fixing it.

Mmmm... for me it wasn't "which"... I had a preference for a very long time... but it was always a little weird, and I didn't grok *why*, until it... no, that's not right. They hit me square in the ten-ring, and I knew that Things Had Changed. I suppose I had had *hints* for a Long Time, but the *realisation* hit at cee-fractional...

But I was never what you'd call "ordinary" either.

I don't think what you wrote was wrong, I just think I'm different. Everybody is.

That definitely sounds like a unique experience. I think a lot of us take more time than "standard" to find ourselves and who we really are, and that's okay!

They is plenty of room for all kinds of beings, and life is a constant journey. I hope your realisations didn't shake things up too much (in a bad way) and I hope you are comfortable and happy with how you are now.

The funny part is, after being _adjacent_ to - and hanging out with - rainbow people for thirty years, discovering It Me was almost like discovering a pair of old favourite shoes... _comfortable_. There were a few things to get used to, but compared to some people's self-discovery - including those I count as close-`ohana now? Easy-peasy.

Thankfully we got to them before things got *too* off the rails... they're doing reasonably well now.
