Weekly Update

It's been a decent week. I've stayed up far too late most nights, but being on afternoons means I can sleep in so I'm not actually running as short as I could be on sleep. I once again hit a problem with motivation at the start of my cycle, but I seem to have been able to counter it better this time, and I have some ideas to try for next time too. :)

The daily things have suffered a bit but I did manage to make them all up so that's okay. I do need to make the April Goal post, so hopefully I can do that tomorrow or this weekend. I have a few plans for mother's day that I'm looking forward to. I've made some progress on my puzzle and the diamond painting so that's nice too. I really need to get out in my garden this week and do some clean up, and I may be going to a book sale and a plant sale, so that could be fun.

I'm sure there are other things to say, but... Oh wait! If you head on over to allbingo The Mixed Quotes Bingo fest is active. There are public cards to use or you can use the lists to make your own cards. Or you could even find some quotes of your own, if you have favourites that you like. To anyone who has made a card, I hope the inspiration is flowing and I can't wait to see what gets written.

My brain is a bit mushy right now (probably because I've been staying up too late to read fanfics), so I can't think of anything else even though I probably forgot something. I hope everyone has a great weekend and that signs of spring are showing up near you.

It doesn't help that I've never been a morning person, and my time working at Dairy Queen and university really reinforced the night owl bit. Plus the temptation of reading and bye bye bedtime.

😆😆 That is the perfect quote for me. I can't count the number of times I've gone, "Enh, I can do with just a little sleep, I wanna see how this fic ends."

Signs of spring

They've been showing up for a few months now. But that's the way it is in California. Most of those signs are enjoyable, but one that is definitely not is the cessation of the winter rains. Except for a week or so in April, which didn't really amount to much, there has been no significant rainfall since mid-January. And this is concerning on a number of fronts, the top three being (in no particular order) hydropower, agriculture, and fire danger.

Enjoy the enjoyables, and may the more violent forms of weather spawned by the change of seasons bypass you and yours.

That's a good point. I usually forget about possible downfalls of spring weather, perhaps because my region doesn't have very many. We usually get enough rain, but not so much we flood, although the temperature tends to swing 20 or 30 degrees Fahrenheit from week to week, if not day to day.

I have had a chance to enjoy the good signs of the season, and so far we've been lucky with the weather. I hope you and yours are safe from any violent weather as well, and that you have some good parts to enjoy.

Almost everything is leafed out here, which is making it harder to plant anything more. :/ The oak seedlings are at least still dormant, but oaks I already have are well leafed out already. Some of the seeds I planted earlier are sprouting; that's always fun to see.

Yay for sprouting things! And since I'm so late in answering this, I'm sure you have plenty of things that are in full bloom by now. I hope your trees are healthy and growing well. :)
