Chipotle Turkey Chili
Jan. 19th, 2021 04:55 pmThis week I made Chipotle Turkey Chili from the TasteofHome Contest Winning Annual Recipes 2010 cookbook.
( recipe )
Changes:
I used diced tomaotes, a 6-bean medley, omitted the basil (because I had none), and added 1/2 a teaspoon of paprika because I used straight Hot Chili powder, and a seasoning mix, and I wasn't sure what kind the recipe meant.
This was a pretty good chili. Flavourful, a bit on the spicy side but not overpowering. I was pleased to find the grocery store had the chipotle peppers in the international food section; I wasn't sure they would. They gave a smoky flavour in addition to the heat that I wasn't expecting. It was also more liquidy than chili usually is, but that might be because of the diced tomatoes. It was still yummy and I'll have enough for the work plus maybe some to freeze. This is a good variation if you want something other than regular chili.
