January Bingo Fill

It's a bit late, but I'm finally posting the bingo fills I did for the public Life Card for the Fresh Starts Bingo fest. All fills were written before the end of January. For the "getting a pet" square for the public Life Card for Fresh Starts Bingo.

Four-Legged Companion
a hexaduad

Soft fur
Loud purr
Always ready to pounce
if there's a mouse to trounce.
I told mom and dad not to worry
when I asked for something furry.
I will pitch in,
and clean the bin;
my new four-legged friend
is worth the time I'll spend
cleaning litter
and feeding her.

January Bingo Fill Number 2

For the "learning to play music" square on the public Life card for the Fresh Starts bingo fest. I needed more words, so I made each verse a Naani, instead of doing just one verse.

Musical Allure
a naani

Drawn in by the high lilting sound
a new love has been found.
Cool beneath her touch,
the flute awaits her breath.

At first it's just noise
but as the days go by,
the skills are learned
to coax forth the sweet music.

For the "graduation" square on the public Life Card for Fresh Starts Bingo.

DIPLOMA
An Acrostic

Done with schooling, a piece of paper is presented.
Intelligence so often measured by having one or not.
Parties abound to celebrate this accomplishment but
Long searches await ahead, trying to find the promised jobs.
Opportunities come along; matching passion but not qualification.
More training is offered, necessary to get the dream job that is so sought after.
Aggravation floods the mind, that this much-touted achievement means so little in the real world.
