Weekly Update
May. 27th, 2021 04:09 pmMostly, this was an average week. Had a long weekend, which was nice. Saw a lot of family and had a good time and some good conversations, but it killed way more time than I was expecting so the weekend was quite as productive as I wanted.
My streak of daily tasks is still alive, so I'm very happy with that. I am less happy with the fact that the BLEEPING squirrels DUG UP my broccoli!!! I had it in a pot, with spiky plastic to deter the squirrels, and they STILL got it! I re-covered the roots and gave it some water, so I'm going to see how it does, but it was so young and spindly that I don't know if my poor baby broccoli will be okay. If anyone has any ideas for keeping the squirrels away (that don't include shooting them or otherwise trying to murder them), that would be greatly appreciated.
I need to cut the grass and do the weeding this weekend, and I need to make a plan for keeping up with the weeding this summer. It's also almost time to cut the lilacs, so I'll have to coordinate that with my dad. The good news is most of my garden is doing well, and a lot of the seeds I planted actually are coming up, so that's nice to see. Jury's still out on whether my dahlia will grow, but I haven't given up hope yet.
The one really good thing this week: I took the end of course test in Esperanto and managed to pass it, despite not having seen most of the modules! Everything is now at level one, which is a very nice boost. I'm so glad they let me use the word banks, because I for sure would have failed if I had needed to translate the sentences all by hand. Now to work on leveling things up...
