August ended up being a very busy month, with a lot of things happening close together. I'm not quite sure what this means for my goals, but we're going to find out. Goal analysis below.

--Earn 30XP a day on Duolingo. Try to complete one "topic" a day.
---No missed days in August.

--Practice French and Polish twice a week, practice Hawaiian, Esperanto, and German once a week. I might change this later, but for now I will keep this format in hopes of making progress on all five languages.
---I stuck to my practice schedule again this month.

--Complete 15 units in French (Unit 17 of Section 8), complete 10 units in Polish (Unit 3 of Section 4), complete 5 units in Hawaiian (Unit 30 of Section 2), complete 5 Legendary units in Esperanto (Unit 30 of Section 2), complete 5 units in German (Unit 6 of Section 3).
---I suspect I won't really be able to assess this goal until December, but I have made progress in all five languages, and I'm relatively happy with where I'm at in all the courses.

--Purchase a gym membership (completed Jan 3). Go to the gym at least twice a week. I expect this one will need an adjustment period, since this is new this year and the time commitment is going to be tricky to figure out.
---I made it to the gym for cardio four days this month. Not an ideal number, but I'm happy with any trips to the gym at this point.

--Do yoga every day except Mondays. However, if I don't do yoga on a day I go to the gym, I'll be okay with that.
---7 missed days in August. I'm not thrilled about that, but I'll try to do better in September.

--Make a weekly post on Thursdays and make the Comfort Corner posts on the first third and fifth Sundays of the month.
---I was late on one weekly post and missed three others. Only one weekly post made on time is not good. Hopefully I can correct this trend in September. All my Sunday posts were on time.

--Cook once a week. I may need to try making things to freeze, so that I can have more variety in my meals and can stick to this goal better.
---I cooked every week, and I found some good recipes from my new cookbooks. I still feel like a solid plan would help, but I'm pleased with how August went.

--Do the dishes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays as well as after any cooking or baking I do.
---I missed some of the target days but did dishes on some other days. On average I seem to be hitting three days a week, so I'll take it.

--Water daily and weed weekly during the growing season (May to September probably).
---I weeded once, and I seem to have hit the point in the season where I more or less stop watering the plants. I'm hoping to some garden clean up in September, but I may need to think of a different way to do this goal next year.

--$X/week in savings.
---Success for August!

--Donate to charity once a month. Create the list by January 15. (List created Jan 2)
---Done for August.

--Read one book a month. Make a list by January 15. (List created Jan 2)
---I read three books in August, all of which I enjoyed.

--Play flute once a month.
---Done in August. I played some songs from my Essential Songs for Flute book this month.

--Participate in at least one bingo fest. Tentatively, the Valentine's fest looks most promising, though a few others look intriguing as well.
---I did not participate in the August bingo.

--Work on old bingo cards.
---August ended up rather busy, so I didn't get a chance to work on any old cards.

--Finish socks. (Done in May)
---I finished my socks! They look really good and they fit and I'm so happy I finally finished them! :D

--Do one knit or crochet project. I have several ideas for this, so hopefully I can achieve this early. (Done in March)
---I finished my basket and my ravenclaw blanket! My coworker and his wife really liked the blanket, so I'm happy about that. :) I have also finished all 19 hexagons. Now I'm just working on tucking the last few ends in, the I can start sewing the blanket together.

--Get one colour of fabric cut for my quilt.
---No progress still, unfortunately.

--Join one crafting class. A local art store offers options, so hopefully I will find something that catches my eye.
---Nothing yet.

--Complete one puzzle
---I completed my rainbow bird puzzle! My sister and I worked on it together, and we got it done in two or three days. It was a lot of fun and it looks really pretty.

--Take one "me" day a month. Hopefully I can plan these better this year and actually get more benefit out of them.
---I don't think I took a deliberate me day in August. I did do some camping so I had time to relax, but nothing purposeful or planned here.

--Go rock climbing or do a ropes course. This might be one I can do with my sister, which will make it extra fun. (Done in July)
---My boyfriend and I went to the ropes course at Boler Mountain in early July. It was a lot of fun!

--Do one outside activity a month.
---I went for a walk by the river, and I had two camping trips this month, so I got plenty of outside time.

--Answer DW comments as I get them. Answer 5 per weekend to clear any backlog that may accumulate.
---I missed pretty much every weekend, but I did go back and answer some of the backlog, so I might be able to get back on track for September.

--Fill in wall calendar with all recurring goals by January 15. (Done Jan 2)

--Improve inter-personal and intra-personal skills. I don't have a plan for this yet, but this feels like a weak area to me and I'd like to shore it up.
---Nothing here yet. Still.

--Determine whether finding a new therapist or other mental health professional would be beneficial. Make a plan with concrete steps to improve at least one slice of the Circle of Life.
---No plan yet, though I really should make one.

--Mark daily tasks as they are completed. Write a monthly goal review at the end of each month.
---I've done okay here, though I need to make more effort to mark things off day off, rather than the next day or later. My monthly review is happening within the first week of Septmber, so I'm pleased with that too.

--Do one seasonal activity each season.
---I have not done my fall seasonal activity yet, and I should probably check a calendar if I want to be able to catch the hawk migration.

--**--Random fun activity for August: I played mini golf, went camping at Sauble Falls, went camping locally in a camping dome, went indoor bouldering, and went to the local fall fair.

August was a pretty good month. I had some misses, but I also had a lot of successes. I did a lot of fun things and I didn't let my goals go entirely, so I'm pretty happy. Here's hoping September is an excellent month!
