January is over! There were some misses, but overall it was a pretty good month. I made a decent start on most things and I hope to continue the momentum into February. For a detailed look at how January went, look behind the cut.

--Practice one language a month on Duolingo. French, German, Polish, Hawaiian, and Esperanto, then repeat.
---I practiced French in January. I missed one day, but that was accidental and because I wasn't feeling well.

--Complete 14 units in French, complete 8 legendary units in Polish, complete 6 units in Hawaiian, complete 8 Legendary units in Esperanto, complete 15 units in German.
---I completed 7 units of French in January.

--Do yoga every day except Mondays.
---I missed 8 days of yoga, but 4 of them were missed because I was sick the last week of January. Not ideal, but I will try again in February.

--Do at least one 30 days of yoga challenge.
---I tried to do this in January, but I missed a lot of days. I will try again in another month.

--Take one walk a week.
---I managed to take one walk a week, although some were rather short.

--Make a weekly post on Thursdays and make the Comfort Corner posts on the first third and fifth Sundays of the month.
---I made all of my weekly posts in January! I also made all of the Sunday posts.

--Cook once a week. I'd like to focus on healthier meals and ways to give myself more variety throughout the week.
---I cooked something every week this month.

--Do the dishes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays as well as after any cooking or baking I do.
---I missed 7 days this month. I managed at least one day a week though, so that's not too bad.

--Water daily and weed weekly during the growing season (May to September probably).
---Not applicable yet.

--$X/week in savings.
---Success!

--Donate to charity once a month. Create the list by January 15 (done January 10).
---Done in January. I have made the list for the year.

--Read fifteen books. Make a list by January 15 (done Jan 1).
---I read "House Rules" in January. I made my list.

--Play ten flute songs a month.
---I played 10 songs from my "Women of Pop" flute book.

--Work on old bingo cards.
---No progress yet.

--Finish the baby blanket I'm working on.
---I wanted to finish the trim in January. I did manage two rows, but I have one more row to finish for the border.

--Crochet a shawl by end of March.
---I started my shawl.

--Get one colour of fabric cut for my quilt.
---No progress in January.

--Complete one puzzle.
---I made an "almost impossible" puzzle that was 144 pieces. I'm reluctant to call this one done though, because I still have quite a backlog to get through. I want to work on an Eagle puzzle next that a friend got me for my birthday.

--Take one "me" day a month. I'd like to plan these out this year so that I can make the most of them, rather than falling into them sideways.
---I did this in January. I read, took it easy, made a diamond painting bookmark, and played some games.

--Go to an amusement park.
---Wrong season for this.

--Do one outside activity a month.
---I took a walk around the local waterfront. I also went skating at an outdoor rink at the Wayne Gretzky winery.

--Answer DW comments as I get them. Answer 5 per weekend to clear any backlog that may accumulate.
---I did this on 2 out 4 weekends, though I do have a backlog to still get through.

--Fill in wall calendar with all recurring goals by January 15.
---Done January 13.

--Work on one slice of the Circle of Life. Have a plan by the end of January.
---I have decided to work on self-esteem this year. I don't have a concrete plan yet, but I will do that in February.

--Mark daily tasks as they are completed. Write a monthly goal review at the end of each month.
---I have stayed on top of marking daily tasks fairly well. This review is later than I'd like, but I'm still battling a sickness, so I'm not too upset.

--Do one seasonal activity each season.
---Not done for winter yet.

--Have a maximum of four coffees a week. I'd like to keep an eye on my caffeine intake, so I figured this would be an easy way to start.
---I did not have more than 4 coffees in a week in January. I'm very happy that I've managed to stick to this goal so far.

--**--Random fun activity: My boyfriend and I went to Niagara Falls the last weekend of January. We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge (an indoor water park), visited an Ice Wine festival, saw the Falls, and went to a pet fashion show. All in all, the weekend was a whole lot of fun.

January was a good month, although I'm going to have to work harder on my fiber projects in February. It's a good start to the year though and I'm pretty happy with it so far.

It sucks when being sick derails things a bit. Hopefully you feel better and can get back on track quickly.

Otherwise, it looks like you had a decent start to the year. Keep it up! =]
