May had some fun activities but I think I also managed a decent amount of progress on my goals. For more details, check behind the cut.
--Practice one language a month on Duolingo. French, German, Polish, Hawaiian, and Esperanto, then repeat.
---I practiced Esperanto in May, although I did miss one day accidentally.
--Complete 14 units in French, complete 8 legendary units in Polish, complete 6 units in Hawaiian, complete 8 Legendary units in Esperanto, complete 15 units in German.
---I completed 17 legendary units in Esperanto, which surpasses my goal and makes the entire course legendary!
--Do yoga every day except Mondays.
---I missed four days of yoga, which still isn't ideal, but it is an improvement over last month. :)
--Do at least one 30 days of yoga challenge.
---I forgot to attempt this in May. Perhaps June will be the month where I do this.
--Take one walk a week.
---I managed a walk every week this month, although some were not so long.
--Make a weekly post on Thursdays and make the Comfort Corner posts on the first third and fifth Sundays of the month.
---I missed one Thursday post and zero Sunday posts.
--Cook once a week. I'd like to focus on healthier meals and ways to give myself more variety throughout the week.
---I cooked every week, although I'm still not overly thrilled with my dinner repertoire, especially for the weekends.
--Do the dishes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays as well as after any cooking or baking I do.
---I only missed three days of dishes, which is really good for me. Hopefully I can continue this trend in June.
--Water daily and weed weekly during the growing season (May to September probably).
---I watered a few times this month and we also had some decent rain, so I did okay on that front. I also managed to weed twice, but I definitely need to do more on that front.
--$X/week in savings.
---Success in May.
--Donate to charity once a month. Create the list by January 15 (done January 10).
---Done in May.
--Read fifteen books. Make a list by January 15 (done Jan 1).
---In May, I finished "Someone Like You" and read "The Night Child." I also started "Ride Free" but I haven't finished it yet. That puts me a little behind for my yearly goal, but not by much. I did enjoy both books, which is always nice. There was one I started and had to stop, because it contained squicky things for me.
--Play ten flute songs a month.
---I played 12 songs this month, all from my Disney Movie flute book. :D
--Work on old bingo cards.
---I did not do this this month, and I also didn't have a chance to work on the new cards I made. *sigh*
--Finish the baby blanket I'm working on.
---I finished the edging, finally! I also started one the the antlers, but then I stalled out again.
--Crochet a shawl by end of March.
---No progress yet.
--Get one colour of fabric cut for my quilt.
---I haven't yet made time for this one.
--Complete one puzzle. (Finished in April)
---I started an Easter egg puzzle, but so far I only have the frame done.
--Take one "me" day a month. I'd like to plan these out this year so that I can make the most of them, rather than falling into them sideways.
---I did take something of a me day this month, though it wasn't very planned. I believe it mostly involved reading, and perhaps a short walk, but I don't recall much else. I will try to be more deliberate next month; days to recharge really are helpful, if I remember to take them.
--Go to an amusement park.
---Not done in May.
--Do one outside activity a month.
---This month, I flew kites with my boyfriend, went to an outdoor car show, and participated in an Amazing Race that mainly took place outside.
--Answer DW comments as I get them. Answer 5 per weekend to clear any backlog that may accumulate.
---I've been decently okay at responding to comments, and my backlog is still hovering at 2 or 3 comments, which isn't too terrible.
--Fill in wall calendar with all recurring goals by January 15.
---Done January 13.
--Work on one slice of the Circle of Life. Have a plan by the end of January.
---Nothing here, although I really should pay attention to this one.
--Mark daily tasks as they are completed. Write a monthly goal review at the end of each month.
---I feel like I've been better about marking off tasks this month. If I wait too long, I forget what I did or did not do, so I've been making more of an effort to do it in a timely manner. My review post is on time as well, which is very nice.
--Do one seasonal activity each season.
---I managed to finish de-cluttering my dresser, which was my last big project. I would have liked to do a bit more spring cleaning, but I feel pleased with what I did get done.
--Have a maximum of four coffees a week. I'd like to keep an eye on my caffeine intake, so I figured this would be an easy way to start.
---Only two out of the five weeks were successful, which is not ideal, but I will keep trying in June.
--**--Random fun activity: I went to a Jo Dee Messina concert with my boyfriend which was a lot of fun. My sister's on foot Amazing Race was also a whole lot of fun. This month didn't feel overly packed but it still had enough fun things in it, so I think it was a decent balance.
All in all, May was a good month. I made good progress on some goals, improved in some areas, and unfortunately neglected a few areas. Hopefully I can capitalize on the gains in June and fill in some of the gaps from May. I hope the year is going well for you all so far!
