February Goal Review
Mar. 2nd, 2026 12:48 pmI think my February goals went decently. It was a fun month and I did a lot of read and knitting. For a more detailed look at my goals, check behind the cut.
Yearly Goals
-On Duolingo, complete 15 units in German, 5 Gold units in Polish, and 5 Gold units in Hawaiian
--I haven't been great at tracking completed units, but I think I finished 2 or 3 German units in February.
-Practice German on weekdays and practice French, Esperanto, Polish, and Hawaiian on the weekend
--I have practiced daily, although sometimes I forget and still do German on the weekends.
-Do yoga every day except Mondays
--I missed 8 days this month, which isn't great, but I will try again in March. Sundays and Tuesdays seem to be the hardest days to stick to yoga.
-Do dishes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays
--I missed a few days here, mostly Saturdays.I 0
-Post 2nd and 4th Thursdays; make the Comfort Corner posts on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays
--I made all my Sunday posts in February, although I missed one of the Thursday posts.
-$X/week in savings
--Success in February.
-Donate to charity monthly
--Done in February.
-Practice flute twice a month
--Done in February. I played 5 songs from the Big Book of Flute Songs, and 5 songs from a Movie Soundtrack book.
-Go to a "Dark Sky Night" at Point Peelee
--Not done yet. I have tentative plans to do this in April or May, depending on the weather.
-Use my Christmas gifts
--Used so far: A Book Nook kit, one puzzle. New in February: none so far.
-Mark tasks daily
--This has not been going well, although I am trying to go back and mark yoga when I remember, at the very least.
-Review goal progress for each month
--This is going decently so far.
January - March
-Read 5 books
--Success! The 5 books I read were: Just a Little Christmas, The Secret Book of Flora Lee, Truthseeker, You Thought You Knew, and Dragonsong. I enjoyed all of them and am looking forward to the next ones on my list.
-Cook once a week
--Done for February.
-Take a "me" day on the 3rd Sunday
--This year, my sister had a Galentines party on the 3rd Sunday, which was a lot of fun but not very relaxing. I did manage to take a me day the next Sunday though, which was very nice. I spent the day just hanging out and getting knitting done, for the most part.
-Medium or smaller coffees only, no coffee on the weekends
--I didn't do great with this one this month. Two weekend coffees, two large coffees, and one day with two coffees in it. Hopefully I can do better in March.
All in all, February wasn't too bad, but there are definitely areas where I need to refocus and try again in March. See you next time!
-Finish knitting my shawl (Feb)
--I didn't finish my shawl, but I did make a lot of progress. I only have 46 rows remaining and I managed to knit around 90 in February. I didn't realize so much of the shawl was left to do when I made this goal, but it did help me focus and actually work on the shawl, which was the main point.
-One treat a day (Feb)
--This was a goal I added to help move towards my goal of being healthier and losing a bit of weight. It did not go as well as I hoped; I had a hard time sticking to only one treat in a day, as opposed to many. It did make me realize that I have more sweets than I thought I did, so perhaps I can think of something for March.
