Comfort Corner

The carpet is thick, soft and cream coloured, while the walls are a yellow bronze colour. In the corner along one wall there is a large sofa, able to seat 4 or 5 people comfortably. Along the other corner wall there is a smaller sofa for 2 or 3 people. In the middle of the furniture, there is a low, round coffee table, perfect for colouring at or for other craft activities.

There is a scratching post and a cat tree for climbing, which are both along the wall opposite the couch. A few fluffy beds have also been put out, in varying sizes, in case any one prefers the floor. There is also a large sturdy perch and a marked off area that says "Landing Pad" in case any winged friends want to visit.

There is now a blue chaise chair in the nook as well, which has been placed near the couch and is good for both sitting and spreading out lengthwise.

There are two baskets off to the side. One contains fuzzy blankets, a variety of fuzzy and textured pillows, and a collection of stuffed animals while the other contains a variety of art supplies, ranging from colouring pages and blank paper to crayons and coloured pencils, and more besides.

Tea, lemonade, coffee, and whisky are available for those that want them. There is also a quiche, shepard's pie, and a fruit salad.

**Fuzzy J comes in, wrapped in her fuzzy red bathrobe robe, flops down on the couch with her stuffed horse, and curls up for a nap.**

*yawn* So much braining this week. Did almost 8000XP on Duolingo, started Esperanto, because hey, why not (because you have four unfinished languages, that's why not) and did gardening today. Soooo sleepy, but I should be more awake by the time any of you see this.

Lynn creeps in, quiet as a mouse, and covers Fuzzy J in a fluffy blanket. She sets down a big plate of cookies and finds a corner to nestle into with her coloring book and crayons.

Fuzzy J cracks one eye open, snatches a cookie, and snuggles into the blanket. "Hi Lynn :) Nice to see you." Fuzzy J gives a jaw cracking yawn. "If you're still here in the morning, I'll be better company then."

(Going to bed for real now, because it's almost 2am here and waaayyyy past my bed time.)

*pads in with a panful of fresh brownies in an insulated pizza case to keep them warm.... and in a second case? Lamb kefta kebabs and homemade pita bread!
(Kefta is spiced with za'atar, a blend used from Morocco to Jerusalem to Tehran... in the Americas it often has coriander as the main ingredient, but Penzey's does it right and uses sumac. YUM.)

*drops a little heat pack in the za'atar to keep it toasty and sets that one on top of the brownies, which I don't want to cool too much but don't want melting either*

*settles down on the other side of J and curls up* yeah, it's past the witching hour here, so... zzzz

*J grabs two kebabs and a pita, alternating bites between them, and grinning at how tasty they both are*

Chucky creeps in, from the Stealth journal because sy say i can. he sets down a basket of chocolate chip cookies... doll-sized chocolate chip cookies so feel free to take several. the basket will refresh itself. magic comfort corner food ftw.
after he's set down the dessert, he snags a kebab and some pita bread to munch on though him doing so looks like a squirrel munching on a coconut proportionwise and flops in a cozy spot, to watch the goings-on and wave to people who come in.

Canadian myself, so I never have shoes on in the house (well, almost never.) I sort of just default to "of course there are no shoes on inside" because that's what I grew up seeing.

When I first moved here, I found it amusing that people would come to someone’s house wearing their boots, carrying indoor shoes in a bag. I keep planning on getting a bunch of cheap rubber sandals and leaving same by the door for visitors, but don’t have enough visitors to matter.

*laugh* Ya, that's not a custom I'm used to. Although my grandma always had a box of slippers for everyone to use whenever we visited, and they were pretty much required in the basement. (Which makes sense honestly, the cement floor down there was cold, even through socks.)
