Well, not much has happened this week, so I guess it's been good. I've been reading a lot of fanfic and not doing much else. I did buy oil for my car, and am now waiting on a convenient time for my dad to do the oil change. I'm on afternoons next week, so we'll see if that helps me be more productive. I'm hoping to be able to make significant progress on my basket, finally get around to the edits I need to do, fill some bingo prompts, and get some weeding done.

My garden is doing pretty well; the zinnias are just about blooming, the dahlia has multiple flowers on it, and all the perennials seem healthy. Unfortunately, the milkweed doesn't seem to be growing, I have one ground cover succulent that seems to be dying, and the squirrels killed one of my marigolds this morning. -.- On the plus side, the plants in the front railing boxes seem to be doing well, and the hanging plants are mostly surviving.

Does anyone know of any good electrolyte mixes, either store bought or homemade? It's been hella hot here lately and work is only partially air conditioned. Having something to add to my water might help, so I don't get as dehydrated.

There's always Gatorade if you can get it... and there are probably other electrolyte mixes in the same general area (drink mixes and tablets) (either aisle or e-store section) ... I don't know of a recipe for doing it from scratch, though orange juice has lots of potassium...

There's a lower-sugar Gatorade called G2 that I prefer for *both* reasons... I'll drink the fruit punch one even when I'm not feeling out of sorts, put it that way.

Yeah, it used to be like 10 calories; they reformulated and it's now 50, but still, it's not like chock full of high-frutcose Monsanto "food" product...

Actually, the "salty note" is a signal built into the formula by the physiologists at the University of Florida who concocted the stuff originally. If you are low enough on electrolytes, your body senses the incoming as something it needs, so you either don't perceive it or it tastes good. Once you've had enough to restore the balance, your body realizes that and your salt receptors reactivate appropriately. So the standard protocol for electrolyte drinks is to drink them until they taste salty, then switch to water.

Yeah my week’s not been productive either, or at least it feels that way. Good luck on the basket and prompts!

Yay for plants🖤
